Well, I’m certainly glad I have you here to tell me what I’m REALLY thinking and feeling.

As cool as that could be, it’s a tad unrealistic when racials are considered. Half Elves could stand on their own as they’re one of the few half breeds that’re known to exist, although Blizz could be cheeky and throw in a purple skin tone as representation of those that’re Half Night Elves

Pair them with the other half breeds, the Mok’nathal, and there’s the Horde equivelent of playable Ogres. Two iconic races that are throwbacks to the RTS days of warcraft that I’m sure would be huge successes if done properly

And what’s your preference? Not taking into account what Blizzard would probably end up doing, just your very own personal preference.

I would suggest if you want anything but High Elves, then go and fight for your cause and not waste time trying to change people minds, We don’t have to convince one another only the Devs.

I love both races, actually I roleplay my main as a Half Elf

I’m just concerned that people think we can’t ask for both Half Elves and High Elves as playable options. I’m trying to gather feedback and know what’s the general consensus and see the results. Who knows, things might get interesting

Mmmm, you have a point. Perhaps they could be developed as a whole new feature: “Interracial” Races, whereby you simply choose two main core races and poof, you get to play a half orc half night elf xD

I’m terrified of Current Blizzard trying to do this. They’ve not impressed of late. Lets focus on features we know the specifics on.

I dont mind half elves after Alliance High Elves. But as a compromise for High Elves dont make sense for reasons I explained before.

I think using Half Elves in place of High Elves is the right way to go, because like Guzzle said, “Same elf, different name.”

We on the pro side advocated for differences between High/Blood Elves to be resembled in the appearance of a High elf allied race, but I’ve come to concur with the anti’s argument that there’s no reason to make them look different because they are the same race. The same people who speak the same language from the same kingdom and have the same culture. One could argue that the political difference of being either Horde or Alliance is enough, but I digress

That is a fair point. It does partially alleviate a few of the issues for High Elves.

Can we all just stop using the word “Compromise” to describe what we want?

I don’t think there should be additional thalassian elves given to the Alliance, and that’s not a compromise.

People arguing for giving straight up High Elves to the Alliance are likewise not compromising.

We have things we want, we’re making our cases for them, that should be enough without pretending we’re taking the other side into consideration, right?

Yeah High Elves should be the goal imo, period. But I love Half Elves also, maybe a human customization of some kind utilizing some of hypers ideas I would loveee

New Race for the Alliance: HALF ELVES!

My point is that uniqueness for the sake of being unique won’t always yield good results. The idea behind the allied race system is to offer new races that’re either variants of existing ones or that reuse assets from another I believe the ship for High Elves as a reskinned version of Blood Elves with blue eyes has sailed, but Half Elves have a shot at being unique, popular and lore-friendly

Sadly, we tried it in the past with Hyper and some other users. Didn’t draw so much attention.

So, results so far!

Half Elves:

1. A separate allied/core eace (3 votes)
2. Customization options for Humans (0.5 vote)
3. Customization options for playable Alliance High Elves? (1.5 vote)

Order of inclusion:

1. Helves first, then Half Elves (3 votes)
2. Half Elves first, then Helves (0 votes)
3. Half Elves instead of Helves (1 vote)
