The High Elf Love Thread đŸ„°

It’s just lore reasons, I know there definitely are Half Elves, and where are they? Literally have no congregation of any sort vs. the High elves. But if they can pull off void elves, then I suppose I like half elves better than giving void elves Fair skin. I imagine Arator would be the leader? Or a common leadership with Alleria and Vareesa, because her sons would be involved in some capacity. Meh

Arator could be their racial leader and their home base can remain stormwind or a new version of Dalaran. Given that half elves can be any elven race, it would certainly work given humans and elves have interacted for thousands of years.

I’m not even sure that makes sense, half elves aren’t a unique political entity. Why would they have a racial leader other than Anduin or maybe Alleria?

Well the leader of an allied race doesn’t need to perfectly reflect them, as we’ve already seen. I still think Vereesa is the best choice, rallying all Half Elves and offering them a chance to prove themselves. Surely they could trust her, she has two Half Elf kids after all. Arator could work too, as Midare said it’d be nice to see him do something for a change

As for their appearance, I’m torn as to whether they’d be thin and majestic-ish humans, or beefier High Elves. Their appearance in game isn’t consistent, and while they look like Half Elves right out of D&D in the comics, characters in the comics don’t always reflect their appearance in game

Blizz would have to create a model that is an exact in between, I think. So much so that we wouldn’t be able to tell which race they resemble more

Just wanting to remind I would love to see Half Elves as a playable (allied) race, or even as a customization option for Humans. I would personally be satisfied regarding the HE issue, considering Half Elves are their descendants.

Sure, Arathor can be the allied race over the three half elves we know of:

His cousins and the ghost of a Guardian

True, and I’d see the Sc as being and outlier for them if Vareesa is the leader of the group. Like I said, if they pulled off void elves then I guess halfsies are fine. I do like void elves as well, just wish they had more involvement
they dropped the ball by not having a group of Sons of Lothar Highelves not accompanying Alleria and learning the void with her
 that at least is coherent.

My thoughts exactly.

To be fair it isn’t explicitly stated that there are absolutely no other Half Elves out there. If Blizz wanted to make the lore about them from the rpg canon I’d probably became a raving fanboy

They’d probably have to form their own political entity, and someone would need to start it. It’d feel more organic to have a known lore character do it rather than making up a new one

The rpg canon also says they are rare, so you have that working against you too

As organic as having a tiny minority of a tiny minority of a devastated remnant suddenly form government?

True, but it’s a big world out there. Gather them all up together in one location and surely there’d be enough to justify it

The biggest thing they have going for them is that they somewhat overcome the fear of stepping on the Blood Elf identity

At the point in time that the Warcraft RPG books take place, the half-elves of human-high elven descent number in the thousands.

Perhaps not a government, but a “crack elite squad”

They don’t, though.

Don’t they? Their whole identity is their lack of one. They aren’t addicted to magic or connected to the Sunwell, and they typically live among humans as they are more accepting of them (although they still face discrimination). They wouldn’t be a copy/paste of Blood Elves either

This is assuming they’d be added as they are in the rpg, of course

Which was changed in the Alliance player splatbook for the RPG.

This is never stated.

No, they’d be a slightly edited version of them.

Which is, by the way, explicitly non-canon.

This. I actually started a Half-Elf thread a while back and it absolutely got toasty in there.

I remember my DK entering Stormwind for the first time - it could be like that.
