No scaaaaaabs.
Iâll see that Irish-German and raise you a Scottish wife with some Norwegian Sami influence.
Scottish wife with some Norwegian Sami influence.
Scots wear dresses and my grandmother was Norwegian.
its funny how you keep labelling the pro high elf crowd as âMuh modelâ when that is the one thing we have been trying to compromise on the most.
Is only a handful that legitimately wants them for the lore, the majority do seem to be using the lore and only the convenient bits of it, to justify getting âthe pretty raceâ
where is your evidence for this? if this was true then why are we so willing to change their appearance? We would be just fine to get high elves as is currently in game but out of consideration for the antiâs complaints we have suggested countless alterations to the model and some even using an entirely different model. These are either ignored by the antis or they screech about how it would make high elves better than blood elves and that it should be given to blood elves instead. For starters âbetterâ is always subjective in this case.
Most of us have no problems with half elves barring calling them half elves. With the high elves we are asking for having lived among humans for so long it would be easy to change the lore to say that the modern high elf is a mix of thalassian and human. They are not half elves they call themselves high elves. Some pure ones remain but a majority have some human ancestry. So essentially including half elves into high elves and the race is called high elves.
We are open to half elves. they just have to be called high elves.
I wonât claim to know a lot about the rpg, just what i read in the wiki. Iâm aware that it isnât canon either, but Blizz will pick and choose which parts they want
While Half Elves are quite rare, it is never stated that the ones we know about are the only ones that exist. Blizz could make the Half Elves of the rpg canon with no consequence
And they wouldnât have to be an edited Blood Elf model, they could use humans as the base and go from there

In the RPG theyâre excessively rare.
Like, rarer than void elf rare.

Yeah, but thatâs still just a human dressing up as a belf.

Why would
a mix of thalassian and human
say
They are not half elves
?
FurtherâŠ

Thatâs not being open to anything.
if they are 1/10th human how does that make them a HALF elf?
Wouldnât surprise me if The SC was retconned to be comprised mainly of Half elves, with Vareesa and a few other Elder Pureblood Elves being the leaders⊠I mean all blizz has to say is that the models are a time in place ⊠well umm place holder for the new models they apply⊠I do t hate the idea but meh⊠itâs just requires so much back tracking.
if they are 1/10th human, how does that make them a HALF elf?
Ok, letâs get pedantic: detail out the racial mix and note that if itâs 1/10 youâre positing that this has been going on for at least four generations since 1/8 would be a single human ancestor 3 generations removed followed by a return to elf-only breeding.
Now that the creative well juices are flowing⊠if they had retconned or revealed that the SC or alliance aligned âhigh elvesâ were half elves after all⊠it would be easier to explain why they have mainly bonded with alliance since their human parents are more alliance⊠grrr I donât like it⊠lol but itâs ideas.
But then of course if they were descendants of Dalaran humans and Dalaran high elves, we are still in a predicament from previous convos of how to get them to step outta the Kirin tor
well considering they have lived in dalaran for 2500 years yeah we can have a lot of generations especially throwing humans into the mix.
Given their average lifespan they would currently be on generation 4 going back to the founding of dalaran. generation 1 would be dead or dying out.

Just be honest and admit that the only thing youâll accept is High Elves. I can at least respect that instead of this mind-boggling rhetorical gymnastics youâre indulging in right now.
why they got to step out of the kirin tor? it isnât like a majority of the kirin tor leans towards neutrality. Just a majority of the council voted that way because of the legion threat. Outside of the major threats to azeroth they have always treated the alliance more friendly than the horde and sometimes outright aided the alliance and fought against the horde such as with cata and MoP.
Which one of us??
it isnât like a majority of the kirin tor leans towards neutrality

No? I am merely bringing up old ideas. we have gone back and forth for 2 years now. A lot of things have been suggested. When proposed in the high elf community discord a majority said they would be okay with mixed elves but generally keep the high elf name for the race as it isnât just mixed elves. there would be pure elves. This would all be reflected with customization options allowing for a lot of variation.
Going off of their dialogue and how they react to the horde player vs the alliance player. They are not as trusting.
