That is your interpretation only, if lore didnāt matter then void elves would have been sufficient. Itās like the WoW timeline never progresses and set in stone and races cannot be brought to the forefront and made to play a bigger role.
Let it go man. Itās still a win-win situation.
Iāve been involved in this argument for a long, long time but what he said itās actually close to reality. Is only a handful that legitimately wants them for the lore, the majority do seem to be using the lore and only the convenient bits of it, to justify getting āthe pretty raceā. Void elves look far more interesting (and I wish my warrior could get those facial hair options), but theyāre too purple to match what they want.
They had 15 years to take on a bigger role and when they had the perfect chance during wotlk and mop, they were relegated to background army and overshadowed by everyone else.
For my part I never took a āhalf-raceā seriously due to the fact I think it opens the floodgates a bit too much with possibilities. While the idea is obviously interesting in a number of ways- characters like Lantresor of the Blade come to mind- I also wonder if theyāre betterā¦customization options rather than full on new races?
I only say that since half any race would probably be rare, so rare as to not have any actual culture except those derived by their parents, and itād be a toss up which they took depending on what two races were involved.
Itās an interesting topic but I personally donāt see it being a thing in WoW (orā¦well, not for a loooong time), especially not with how invested people are in various actually developed or burgeoning races .
Wtb Vulpera <.<
Theyāre high elves with bigger muscles, itās no different.
Thereās no specific model for them currently to know this. They could be more slender humans with pointy ears.
Again, if they want to bring them to the forefront, the previous 15 wouldnāt have any effect on this. I mean look at DID, they were just as much or more of a back ground group made allied race.
Which is just a slightly modified high elf then.
Thematically theyāre still just high elves.
High elves never had an scenerio exclusively to display the character of their leader like DiD had with Moiraā¦ but then again, they donāt even have one that unified them to begin with.
How did your post ended ahead of mineā¦?
And no theyāre not. They could completely sever their ties with the Sunwell and theyād have 100% human culture.
Then theyāre just humans using a modified blood elf model.
Again, you do not know this.
Youāre being more stubborn than meā¦ how?
Vareesa (pressumed leader) has had just as much dialogue and more novel time than Moira has by farā¦ that that any of this is a qualification for an Allied race. Who was the leader of the Light forged? I think we are all making mistakes of what is truely qualifying for an AR race, we have these parameters that are observedā¦ but not set in stone.
Weāll have to agree to disagree.
Practice.
If Half Elves became a thing Iād hope theyād draw inspiration from the rpg stuff Iāve been reading about them
Theyād be outcasts to both humans and Blood Elves, not really having a place of their own in the world. They fight for the Alliance to prove their worth and to help remove the negative stigma from them as half breeds
I actually like this a lot
Vereesa is only the leader of the Silver Covenant and yes, her loyalties are flimsy at best (and no, I donāt wish to get into that argument now when Iām about to head out for groceries and the Bourbon handled that better). Then we have the Highvale, maybe those that were left from Quelālothien lodge, and those that are still visiting the Sunwell. Itās not even one group alone going through a phase of teenage rebellion (Bloodtotem for example in the case of Highmountain) that could be completely separated, thatās two for sure and three if someone besides Hawkspear survived and none are that distinct either to be fully separated.
And letās not forget blizz loves to ignore any development in books.
Because if we are to follow those parameters, the possibility only diminishes.
Iām part italian and spanishā¦ you donāt get more stubborn than this.
I like it too, itās far more compelling in my opinion and it actually means they have a strong reason to āearn their placeā.
Half Elves would be an awesome compromise
Irish German.
You are like little baby to me.
The problem with Half Elves however is that most of the arguments used against High Elves can be used against them. Lack of a leader, lack of population, lack of their own identity, elf fatigue, etc.
Half Elves relieve the ātoo similar to Blood Elvesā argument by quite a bit, but the comparison would still be there. Regardless, many of those in the anti camp are more agreeable when it comes to Half Elves, but theyāre less popular in the Helf community (maybe because they seem a lot less likely?)
Iāll just hand you some beer and a potato to munch on, that should soothe you. No wait, Iām also part germanā¦ guess Iāll only give you the potato and keep the beer for myself.
But thereās also a major advantage. While they are not a new concept, they are certainly underveloped (worse than darkspear, gnomes, pandaren and tauren combined). Which mean the possibility of having, say, Arathor come forth and unify them.
15 years of being there and not being touched vs Arathor taking the spotlight and doing something besides longing for his parentsā¦ think about that.
Again, if they are set to be more slender humans with longer ears, Iād be all up for it. If instead they simply buff up the blood elf modelā¦ you can bet your behind Iāll get as obnoxious about it as Iāve been for 7 years about this.
Okay calm down English government years 1169-1922.
