The High Elf Love Thread đŸ„°

Betrayed cowards for allies and honor.

Win win i say.

Not that the concept remotely matters, all in all, High Elves chose their path and High elf(Future Blood Elves) chose theirs, our opinions on that from our varying sides doesn’t matter, the story reflects both their paths.

and that is what we are talking about with high elves. They chose to stay loyal to friends and family rather than their nation.

It’s a good thing you’re in no position to let anyone have anything then, isn’t it? I know you, and others, could genuinely not care less what adding a true clone race would do to other people. You’ve made it abundantly clear - repeatedly.

Those who point out that it’s only been a decade or so in game time since the schism - which is not remotely long enough for any physical differences to manifest - have a point, it’s simply a point you either ignore or belittle.

This has been, for quite some time, a zero sum debate when it comes to an actual look-alike race. If there’s a compromise to be found, I personally think it’s a new model, a half-elf with the supporting backstory. I also know that “No, I want the Silver Covenant/7th Legion blue-eyed blond haired trope-style High Elf” is far and away the most prevalent response to that.

So, traitors. I just wish they were written that way.

you say traitors and we say they were loyal. Blood elves view the nation above the the alliance and high elves view the alliance above the nation. both are traitors. both stayed loyal.

Sure, there isn’t backlash against Void Elves. Look, you can like them, or not care about them, really, but to deny that VE’s have been controversial, and not simply from a HE fan PoV is very disingenuous.

Wouldn’t know about that, isn’t the point I’m making, I was simply pointing out your dismissal of the issues regarding VE’s because they are popular. I’m just saying that not because they are popular it means they are complete success.

Well, yeah.

Well, It’s good that I am not basing my argument for playable HE’s in their (alleged) popularity.

I want playable HE’s because I like their story and lore and why they are on the alliance. Popularity is not an argument I’m using for them, so neither I’m gonna agree with false equivalences to quality cause obviously per what you are replying you know I don’t agree with popularity=quality.

I mean weird reply as I have simply not been claiming that HE’s should be playable cause they are popular.

You get that that’s an opinion from a certain view point right?

Quel’thalas we’re the traitors to begin with when they left their allies.

High Elves sticking to their oaths and friends are honorable and loyal, and you wanna spin that as traitor to fit what narrative exactly?

Of course there’s been backlash. I believe, if I’m not mistaken, they are also far and away the most played AR in the Alliance.

It’s like the different experiences and perspectives of both groups would be a very interesting dichotomy to play from both sides or something!!!

Definitely head canon on your part.
Who did the blood elves, then high elves, betray and flee from?

Yes, even though the corruption of the sunwell was sending entropic energy that would ahve killed all high elves. So
she chose her friends and family for nothing, while Kael’thas and the rest of her people literally saved everyone.

They’re traitors dude.
They had friends and family in quel’thalas which is stated by the high elves themselves.

Except the blood elves did not betray anyone.

Traitors to their leaders, traitors to their nation (when 90% go one way and 10% go another it’s not the 90% who bailed), and traitors to the memories of King and kin who died in the Scourge. Traitors who chose the safety and security of Dalaran and Stormwind to the struggles of rebuilding a shattered nation.

Traitors.

And, Cezol, that’s fine. There’s room for that story arc in the game and it could have been an excellent one. The Good Guy/Bad Guy trope is overused, and writing them that way - with the Alliance accepting them for purely selfish reasons would have been fine.

The Alliance, and the Horde.

Next question.

Funny you saying head cannon to anyone and not knowing the most basic lore of your so beloved Blood Elves.

Cool opinion, still love them.

And that’s the point; not because they are the most popular it means they are beyond reproach. They are at the same time the most popular and the most controversial, and we can’t pretend either doesn’t exist.

My point is that popularity doesn’t mean quality, and the lack of quality of VE’s has been a very big issue in the community, and not just for HE fans.

No it is pretty factual in this case.

You
do realize
Dalaran was a part of the alliance of Lordaeron, and did not brand the high elves living there as traitors when their king chose to leave the alliance
right?

Betraying someone means you’re still allied with them.
The high elves were no longer allied with the alliance of Lordaeron.
So how can you betray someone you’re no longer allied with nor have taken any hostile actions against?

Wasn’t betrayed.

How have they been betraying the Horde?

yeah, where are you pulling this non-existent story from?

I mean
my favorite race is Worgen, not blood elves. I play a blood elf because *it is the second best race for a DK.

But hey, feel free to make false accusations Kizzan.

Ran from, I know reading is hard. But take it slow.

Here’s a hint, context is key. :kissing_heart:

OooOOooOO edggggyyyy, you know my alt.

Some of us don’t feel the need to hide in anonymity. Sorry?:man_shrugging:

I keep saying it would be so cool to actually have this in game with two playable races.

Like I like both groups, I get why they did what they did, but this level of ideological animosity is just so PERFECT for the faction conflict and is simply wasted.

Okay, how did they run from the Horde then?
If you’re going to make a claim, you need to back it up. I know its your typical thing is to say things then pretend its fact buuuuuuuuuuuuuut, you need to back it up on this one.

It would be a good idea except that
blood elves didn’t betray anyone from an objective and subjective view. it just isn’t there to begin with, especially when you have high elves who are sympathetic to the blood elf cause. it’s like slamming a square peg into a circular hole and saying “GOOD STORY!”.
It would just come off as forced and contrived.

let alone, game design comes before lore. So
high elves wont happen

Not weird at all. I’m drawing parralellleleleleels cus you and your disjointed squad of high elf fans often purport the High Elves to be the most popular race addition. I’m only firing back what you’re shooting. Also the talendrion i remember wasn’t one to show people he bled. Why the absolute snark in your voice? Thats not like you at all.

Still waiting on you to provide your lore to demonstrate your claim. Trolling won’t make people forget Kizzan.

I actually just read up on it, and you’re absolutely right. My bad. :bowing_man:

Still don’t really care about your opinion on them, give me my “traitor” High Elves. :smiling_imp::large_blue_diamond:
