The Void Elf popularity with the general playerbase kind of proves theyâre a success regardless of whatever âstoryâ some people think it lacking.
Phoneâs about to die so Iâll make my leave for now. Have a good day, everyone!
Also, arenât their racials pretty decent for content?
Heck, if I actually played alliance I would be the kind that would roll them not only because they look good, but that transmog racial⊠Iâd be all over that.
You are assuming they had one goal in mind.
They might have failed one possible goal. And even thatâs debatable, not only because we donât know how many people that wanted high elves embraced void elves despite their flaws, or how many people that simply do not care about high elves are playing void elves.
But they certainly succeeded with the other possible goal.
So if they succeeded at one of the two possible goals, is it truly a failure?
How would everyone feel about getting Half Elves? I think that would be an acceptable compromise.
Depends on what the margins for success are I suppose. Is it only numbers? Or is it player satisfaction?
Should be like Magâhar; mix them into helves and just keep the race as helves. So, you have customization options to look like a half-elf.
I personally think that they have not only better chances, but also would be interesting and perfect to be added along with Mokânathal for the Horde.
What do you think a big multimillion company cares about?
The bottom-line, of course. Which is why I think helves are a sure thing. The profits alone from microtransactions would be monumental. Theyâre probably just holding onto them for a period of projected low profit.
Its a game. Quit trying to make it out more than it is to be. new game > new race
New race is aesthetics. new game = aesthetics, gameplay, new quests etc etc. it is substantially more than a race/
Pandaren = neutral.
That is part of what hurt their popularity as choice and exclusiveness creates feelings of satisfaction.
Kul tirans are fat humans. You think people will get excited for a race theyâve seen before just because theyâre fatter? People are not stupid.
if a comparison does not work then its not valid and not worth discussing.
A professional analyst would not look at such a thing because the data is not conclusive and they have decades of information which demonstrates double dipping on a design = does not work.
You mean likeâŠwhen they lost a chunk of their subs for the WoD debacle? I find it utterly ridiculous that people such as yourself perpetuate the notion that high elves are someâŠbreak the glass feature that would singlehandedly save WoW if its in a bad spot.
They also came out at the same time with a new expansion. If you really believe a substantial amount of subscribers appear solely for a singular race, youâre not understanding human behavior.
Who are you to say people arenât satisfied with their void elves? I know lots of people who love them.
Allied Races are essentially double-dipping on a design though.
Iâm a business analyst-programmer, too many variables, too little data.
Iâd need to gather data from a large swath of the playerbase to start with.
And you think the possible consequences of their addition, the ones youâre most likely going to deny and brush aside as mere speculations when you have no way of knowing if they will have a negative effec or not⊠wonât give them any losses?
Also, you think that blizzard doesnât know what will or wonât give them money? If they are such a sure cash grab, why havenât they been implemented for 15 years?
All I ever heard are complaints, honestly. Itâs either the helf crowd who wanted helves, or the velf crowd who think the velves donât have enough void customization. They want void tattoos, a void form more like Alleriaâs rather than the blue spray paint, they want third eyes, black eyes, purple eyes, etc⊠And then the velf crowd is also pretty upset that they donât have much lore or presence in the story. They only have one named character!
As an afterthought Iâve heard a lot of belves complain about them too and wanting to know how belf shadow priests work now.
What possible consequences? That everyone is going to quit because helves were added?
What was the logical fallacy?
Survivor bias?
You see something, and then look at the wrong variable.
Forums are where people come to complain or make unreasonable demands. They are not indicative of a problem. This is why Blizzard ignores them.
Are you just talking to other RPers and people on the forums? Neither of those groups are representative of the playerbase as a whole.
People on forums, reddit, MMO-Champs, forums, in game, various discords, people who donât even play the game anymore but used to, etc⊠Velves are controversial. Theyâre a hot topic.
This is a good point. With Mokânathal being half Ogre and half Orc, and Half Elves being half High Elf and half Human, it seems like a fairly equal pairing to add.
