and you know why companies do that? because no one knows what will happen in the future. things and opinions can changes.
They do it so in the future if they ever do what is being asked it canāt be used against them.
Blizzard has made that mistake a lot in the history of WoW. They would give hard noās only to go back on that in later expansions.
No, itās because upset customers means less money, and no one likes to be told no right to their face. A side effect of the ridiculous notion that āthe customer is always rightā.
Ever heard about the concept of ācarrot on a stickā. Yeah, High elves are one of the many carrots. The chances of catching the carrot are pretty low in this case.
As I said, I donāt remember them ever giving a flat out ānoā besides being snarky with the whole vanilla thing. Show me an example of them saying no explicitly if you will make the claim of them doing so.

I remember when Blizzard was vehemently against legacy servers. Now Classic is out and is enjoying a lot of success right now.
As for entitlement, I canāt speak for others, but I want high elves because I love Warcraft and its lore, and want nothing but the best for the franchise. I genuinely think their inclusion will help the game

Well of course. I understand itās a āsoftening the blowā technique. Iād imagine the hard no is more or less going to be when they stop implementing allied racesā¦ which at this point it seems as though they have no more plans for anymore ARs. I just donāt mind discussing the idea that I would like to see it for various reasons, but itās not what keeps me around either. Yeah we have no idea what the future holds, and blizz has been quieter than usual on all fronts. I understand Blizzcon is going to be a load of info though, we just have no timeline for 8.2.5 release.

flying in WoD. They said no. eventually they backtracked on it and made pathfinder.

It sounds so cute when one answers from the side that wonāt take any damage.
You should really wonder why many people are against them beign a thing, but not that it matters to you guys, after all, everyone who disagrees with your side is a āTrollā.

the people that are against them donāt seem to understand when high elves are implemented nothing is going to be damaged by it.
You claim it would harm the identity of the blood elves and be a slap in the face to the horde but if you truly believe that you donāt know the lore you claim to love. You keep thinking of high elves as the high elves of silvermoon that eventually became the blood elves when they are not. We have made that clear. The majority of the ones we are asking for have been separated from quelāthelas for decades if not centuries and some even for millennia.
Few of them are from around the time of the third war. Culture wise they are closer to humans than blood elves. They are peasants and commoners. They are not this haughty elite in their golden towers using magic to carry their snacks to them.

Well people sure speculated that Blood Elves would be Alliance back in the day
But realistically they shouldnāt have joined either faction, at least if the lore remained consistent. Prior to TBC Silvermoon was in ruins and abandoned, the Blood Elves themselves left a scattered people who were few in number. Youāll see one around every now and again in classic, but the only settlement full of thalassians (to my knowledge) at that time was the High Elf lodge that the Horde attack
So yes, but actually no. Adding Blood Elves to the Horde required a retcon, but it helped solve the major population issues. Plus I actually enjoyed the edgy Blood Knights basically being at war with traditional paladins, TBC Blood Elves were the best Blood Elves
Do they ever mention Garithos in game? Iām genuinely curious. I figured they went Horde because the humans wouldāve been disgusted by the way they subjugated the light. It also doesnāt help that Lorāthemar has beef with Jaina, now
Youāre the ones who really donāt get the issue, or simply act like they donāt for the sake of getting something.
I donāt love Belves, I donāt even have one. Yet is pretty clear what you guys want to do and I donāt support it.
Mostly Headcanon. Even Ion said they were the same thing, having different political views doesnāt change your race.
Soā¦ let me get it straight, If am a poor commoner, Im actually a different race?, lulwut.

I may not agree that High Elves should be playable but seeing people blatantly abuse the report system just to chain-lock a thread they donāt agree with is just sad.

Actually, Someone said on another thread that the Pro Helf crew got it locked by flaggin the Antis that posted there
Is this true? I only ever get flagged from the HE megathread when I say something āInsultingā ? (or at least considered insulting by the mods) some of my posts against High Elves are still up.
Is that true? Did a gm mention that in a ticket?
Well, thats what that guy said, I donāt even go to the Megathread, I honestly miss the Anti thread, beign in the same place with themā¦
I donāt like it tbh.
Iāve been gone a bit, which thread got locked? I usually only see this one or the customization thread on the forums.
Also, if any pro person doesnāt think that making blood/high elves alliance allied race would damage the Horde, youāre willfully ignorant of the outcome. To think thereād be no downside is just plain incorrect.

The Pro Helf megathread, apparently it has been locked by mass flags
Not a bad way to get a forum vacation, regardless of who is doing it. Kinda silly.
This thread works pretty good, itās a great spot to ask for a blue eyed customization option for the existing playable high elves that reside on the Horde named as blood elves.
Hoping to see that happen as Ion said it wasnāt out of the realm of possibility though Iād agree with most that many other races need some customization options. Canāt wait for the Worgen/Goblin remodels and animation tweaks!

Making Blood elves go to allianceā¦ yes definitely would harm the horde, and guess what, that isnāt happening any time soon.
Making the existing high elves that are not loyal to horde go alliance as playable, is debatable. Other than the Roleplaying Blood elves, who is it going to hurt. People are not going to be migrating from horde to alliance over the āsameā model if they are in established guilds, are hardcore pvp and happy to be horde. Flimsy argument to say that it will steal from the themes and so onā¦ no reason that blizzard cannot simultaneously work on expanding more Blood elf loreā¦ actually Iād advocate for it.

Itās not debatable, or at the least anyone suggesting thereād be NO fallout is just blinded by bias.
Blood elves are the gameās playable high elves, theyāre not going to take a core Horde race and flop on that. Theyāve even repeatedly reinforced this.
Iām excited for when we see new customizations for the blood elves like blue eyes to go with the gold and green. Really showcases their history and their affinity for magic while offering great options. Hereās hoping we get some Lorāthemar style beards and maybe some Farstrider tatts again like they had in WC2
