I have to say that if my brother or sister died and came back like that (or really, came back at all for that matter  ) the absolute last thing I would want be was close.

Veressa is 100% Alliance as of the most current lore.

Can we get on to a real topic? lol

I find this “SC is neutral” topic very absurd. Again, it’s like if lore were written on stone and could never be subject to change.

Even if the SC was a truly neutral impartial faction (it isn’t, but let’s imagine it is), there would be nothing preventing them from changing affiliation from Dalaran to the Alliance. There is no hidden “law” that forbids them from joining other factions.

Dark Iron Dwarves joining the Alliance was way more implausible, and here we are. They’ve been fighting for the Alliance since Cataclysm.

Isn’t that like 80% of the reason you chaps want high elves as an Alliance race?

Classic + is getting Alliance High Elves

Lol of course we both know that is ridiculous. The Silver Covenant is militantly aligned with the Alliance. Just ask any blood elves living in Dalaran during the purge that happened during MoP
if you can find any.

“Lore does not matter because they can just rewrite it.” is not a strong counterpoint given the dual nature of it.

@zemekkis: You mean
when jaina was in charge of Dalaran and commanded the order? Which then resulted in the fight being resolved by Shadow Pan? Which has seen peace ever since? Including Jaina labdicating her position to the neutral viewing Khadgar? Who is not allowing Dalaran to be involved in BFA? Where Vereesa lives?

Would’ve been cool to see DID’s join the Horde to fuel the faction war, since they kind of hate the other dwarf clans

Very glad to see thia thread is still up, btw. I’d like to thank every individual who is against High Elves but still didn’t flag the thread

Yea, but you are just dodging how she got her credibility assassinated. Its okay thpugh, Golden did it to all the Knaak creations.

It is horrendous how characters in both the novels and in game have barely any cohesiveness.

considering that is what happens it isn’t a maybe. this has been going on for weeks.

I don’t know why they hyped Christie Golden joining the writing team for the game. This is the WORST written expansion ever. Definitely NOT worth the hype.

Eh, WoW’s story hasn’t been especially hyped for me since WotLK. I just wish there was more of a reason to log in

I think they are going to make GOT season 8 writers and supernatural writers jealous with the stupidity of the story.

Thats more point. Vereesa, who has a ton more writing and story in literature than in game, is almost an entirely different character.

Ill start with Knaak’s books to Wrath for a start:

In one of Knaak’s books (I cannot remember which one it was, it might have been Night of the Dragon), Vereesa literally mentions to Rhonin about how without him she probably would have gone back to Quel’thalas and become a blood elf. She talks about the struggles of the mana addicition.

Right away, Vereesa is shown to understand the plight of the blood elves and her people with the destruction of their home and the Sunwell.

This same story element continues on in Night of the Dragon with bad comic book villain and Windrunner family member, Zendarin Windrunner. Zendarin was described as a hard Kael’thas supporter and believer in his ideologies, as well as being a blood elf. In the book, Zendarin comes up with plans to kidnap Vereesa’a children and the Demon Soul to gain more power.

This book has a marquee moment where Vereesa chastises Zendarin saying that “he is not worthy of calling himself a blood elf, nor would the blood elves welcome him.” So its clear she understands that not all of the blood elves are monsters or people who are just powerhungry/wicked.

Night of the Dragon also canonically happens between TBC and Wrath, so news of the Sunwell’s lighting and the cooperative efforts at the Sunwell Plateau by the high elves/blood elves further pushes a narrative for that Vereesa to know of the world events and that the blood elves have gone their redemption arc.

Yet, her introduction of the Silver Covenant and her anti-blood elf stance is almost completely random when introduced in Wrath (and briefly mentioned in In the Shadow of the Sun by Aethas). The logical progression of the story is missing key vital pegs for the character change to happen.

It is however, easily excusable and can be chalked up to more details of TBC and prior years coming to light (but doesnt exactly lessen the blow of how random it seems to happen).

To be fair, they were literally forced to by Varian

indeed its not. vereesa will never be portrayed in a 7th legion uniform with a few high elves accompanying her. what we have are 2 elves on an airship who could be SC elves who took off their uniforms and put on another or are simply 2 of the few actual individual alliance high elves that exist :woman_shrugging:

Or
the Silver Covenant bound by the laws of Dalaran arent allowed to openly engage in the faction conflict, so they join the 7th Legion as specialists.

It would be logical, but its not actual lore
which has always been the problem.

Then why aren’t they wearing Silver Covenant uniforms?
