Dracthyr gave us the disadvantage of actual playable dragons(no transmog) without an actual advantage (you know, actually being a dragon)
There is no appeal to a lizard with wings. The only part of dracthyr I can praise is the head customizations are pretty good.
Again, it’s just circular logic. If they weren’t going to wear armor, they didn’t need to be humanoid. And let’s not forget that they only get one new model, as opposed to literally every other race which gets two.
It’s not a good look for the biggest feature of an expansion to have cut corners because “it was too much work”.
They HAVE armor. Infact is superior in appearance and quality what we getc
I don’t think they were a mistake, I think they’re great. My Evoker is one of my favorite classes and characters in the game, and when Dracthyr gets access to more classes I’ll probably change my Rogue to that as well.
Can’t get over how they look. It stinks too because Evoker looks pretty fun but I’m not ever able to get past the look and Visage looks completely out of touch with the rest of the WoW races to me.
Nah, Gnomes were a mistake.
Mechagnomes especially. Ew.
I like them though.
I can transmog the visage outfit, to what I want, and the barbershop outfit looks great no matter what mismatched gear I might get before I fix it. The two outfits that switch with the visage are a bonus for me.
I love that I can practically fly from creation, it really makes getting around places easier.
Also, they look awesome.
Looking forward to them having more classes to play as well.
This entire thread was summarized by Douglas Adams over 30 years ago:
“In the beginning the Universe was created.
This had made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.”
Dracs happened, people will be mad. But then people are always mad. So who cares?
Sounds like Dracthyr just need a visual update with more “body types” and more masculine options.
I see Dracthyr as another race Blizz gave us when we wanted something else. I wanted Drakonid instead of Dracthyr. I think Dracthyr are O.K. but not giving us a race we are familiar with and instead giving us a race I know nothing about is getting old.
Ogres, Forest Trolls and Drakonid come to mind first when I think of races we should’ve had but still don’t. Ogres should’ve come before BE’s. Forest Trolls should’ve come before Goblins and most definitely before Zandalari trolls. Drakonid should’ve come before Dracthyr.
Why are we getting new races with little to no in-game lore beforehand? Why aren’t they giving us the well known races we’ve seen as we’ve played over the years or read about in the books?
As much as I like new races I am just not excited anymore because they are races I am not interested in. They are not legitimate races as in the order in which they appear in the history of Warcraft and I’m going back to the RTS games also.
There were no BE’s in WC 1 & 2 that I can remember but there were Ogres and Goblins. The BE’s were the Hordes enemy when they came through the portal. When the Orcs came through the portal they had some Ogres with them but no Goblins, since they were from Azeroth, but they freed the Forest Trolls. Vol’jin was battling Zandalari Trolls in the book and that was after Orcs had come to Azeroth. There’s no logic to these race releases except Blizz has an Xpac so lets add this new race. That’s just dumb.
androgynous as opposed to all the other dragons in the game that you can tell their gender at a glance when theyre not in visage form? oh yeah all the dragons look the same. and idk about you but breathing fire and using the magic of all 5 flights doesnt seem like poor draconic theme, in fact the devs put a lot of effort into bringing out their draconic theme, just look at any move evokers have.
