Yep… Happens a lot these days.
It does happen a lot, and what’s really stupid about it is that the people doing it are sabotaging themselves too by having to find twice as many pools to get the same number of fish.
I usually plop down and fish, and then realize someone is there. I’ll usually get up and leave then…I need new glasses haha
And still no word from Blizz if this change is intended or not. At least give us that so we know
The silence is an ominous omen. I guess we’ll find out Saturday.
You want as much skill as possible even with pools. Pools have random fish.
Random fish, but I’ve yet to see any evidence that either skill or perception has any effect on what you fish up. Skill at least matters for open water, but I see nothing at all that indicates it matters for pools.
Well…they increased it to 10 marks, this week. There’s an additional reward, a choice between journal pages to increase fishing by 20, or thread to increase perception or skill. It still feels like a very long grind, but I guess it’s better.
They introduce a new way of playing the game, qol changes and all, It looks good on paper, theeenn they say let’s make m+ overtuned, the highest crest should drop 9 and above, fishing, let them fish all day, professions, warband shouldn’t be able to use the warband bank. These guys are out of it, they want you to play with your alts, but at the same time they don’t.
For the first time in years, I am super pissed about what they are trying to do. I said this before, let me say it again. If they do not ease the m+ tuning a bit (one wipe should not brick the freaking key) I am done. I ain’t gonna wait for the damned s2. good luck to you.
The fact they increased it to 10 marks proves that reducing it to 3 wasn’t a bug. There was zero reason for them to take marks away. It’s hard to understand why they want to bait and switch like that. I’m never touching this garbage event again unless they increase it back to 25 marks. .
I logged in today hoping that they reverted the awful change but no
They have now changed it to 10 marks which still sux.
This means it will take 50 weeks to get the ensemble alone without any of the other cosmetics.
I do not want to level fishing on all my alts and spend hours every week doing this.
How is this event respecting our time?
In relation to their statements and actions recently around other activities, yes this is a very stupid change. They’ve went out of their way to adjust holiday bosses, renown, etc to not require farming of an alt army. So this makes absolutely no sense.
They need to make the derby a warbound activity first then adjust the marks around that. It’s like they can never get two smart people in the same room to make decisions.
I was wrong to give them the benefit of the doubt. They intended this.
As someone who does have a few alts, the new change that makes this 10 marks and 2 books/threads does benefit me. I’m not sure if it’s intended but alts finished the quest for all three fish on their first cast into a pool even if they only had level 1 fishing skill. So, this netted me a few more marks than the old 25 mark way, didn’t take hours more time because of the instant finish on alts, and helped me get a fast +20 skill with those alts via the books.
Overall, I like the way the derby is now working since those marks my alts earned are transferrable and my main will now get the mogs just a little bit faster. This does still burn a bit though for those without any alts.
No changes from last week. Still 10 marks for the weekly quest.
In my Opinion the changes are pretty cool! Now u can easy get fishing on your alts and main! And 10 marks is ok if u do alts … if not then it is your problem!
But it is pretty buggy at the time:
- U can finish the quest with ur alt through arathi chests, cause the only condition for the quests on your alt is that u have to loot 1x trophy fish!
- U cannot fish with your alts any additional marks cause the game is taking over the status of your main
