yes, but they’re smart so they wana go alliance.
TBH I hope Kelfin are like Earthen; they can be either.
the sea belongs to us all so i’d be down with that dual-faction…ness.
I’m not that much a fan of races being neutral. Makes their stories harder to actually add to the game. The Kelfin though only interacted with the Horde so they should be Horde only. Alliance should get the Ankoan in their place.
While we’re at it I also think that the Jinyu and Hozen should join their respective factions. >.> (Not to mention the other races that already joined a faction but are still not playable like the Taunka and Frostborne, Ogres and Furbolgs).
yes - howeverrr
Goblins pollute with their oil spills & such.
Anyone who messes with the ability to breathe would be hated imo.
~also the oil would kill all kinds of sea life & that’s the kelfins food / pets & friends.
guess its like a (we may be related but you’re not family) kinda deal
The Kelfin being involved with future Goblin context, like Undermine, wouldn’t be a surprise. And the recruitment could be them formally joining the Horde, like how the Dark Iron started off.
Though with how the Earthen were an achievement unlock with no recruitment storyline, it does me wonder how the Kelfin would be handled. Like we could have the campaign, then the recruitment quest chain that was the standard of the allied races. Alternatively we could see them formally on the Horde during the storyline itself or get the reveal that they joined the Horde offscreen and then unlocking them with the achievement system.
I have to admit I would prefer to see the Kelfin formally join the Horde over it being an offscreen thing. And as someone who likes doing the recruitment quests, I hope we get the standard allied race unlock experience.
I’ve recently checked on the Unshackled in Durotar since the expansion launched. I usually do this every time an expansion or big patches launches.
…unfortunately, they’re still just sitting there. Having a cookout, playing some Nintendo, just waiting for an official invitation to join the Horde. Feels pretty bad since we just up and left them in BfA without a goodbye or anything.
So close, yet so far away…
I assume they would be an Allied Race that you would need to unlock. It makes the most sense and it would be great to finally see them get an official invitation to join the Horde.
Plus you can add in questlines to get players engaging in the content and unlock them. Add in Ankoan on the Alliance side and throw in some Azshara stuff, and you’d have a pretty great event.
And as I said before, under no circumstances should Kelfin be a customization race. I will be disappointed in having my deep sea goblins having the ability to drown in a rain puddle.
Gazlowe and his “new goblin way” greatly changes that. The Horde Goblins are building a better future. One where the Kelfin would no doubt be interested in helping out with. The Horde provides them with the best situation for their people. They already know them and they share many ideals that the Unshackled do within the Horde.
They’re a good fit. Much less so with the Alliance. It would be a weird angle since they have no call or connection to them. I’d dislike that choice if Blizzard went there.
I agree this could be a possibility. Though one that isn’t entirely needed. >.> With them in Durotar its pretty clear that they have an interest in the Horde already.
I really feel off about there being no specific questline to join the Earthen to the Alliance and Horde. Felt odd. Its a good starting set of quests though that they do get awakening.
I hope the Kelfin and other races have their own recruitment scenarios even if they’re little more than formally bringing them into the fold.
This. All of this.
either way- i wana play em.
Give us the fish we deserve!
Considering what the Unshackled went through and how they were left on their own again, I can see them having a lot of interest in joining the Horde.
As I’ve harped on before many times, Azshara is still out there and could come back to Naz’atar at any point and time. And with the waters having filled up in the area, it’s hard for me to imagine the Unshackled getting any immediate help as a result should an army of Naga attempt to make a hostile takeover again.
If the Unshackled join the Horde, then they have a better chance of survival should that happen. And the Horde benefits because having an aquatic race to help with shipyards, underwater diving and rescue missions, and underwater defense would be pretty handy to have. Especially if Orgrimmar is going to be constructing some ports in the near future.
I do have to wonder if there would’ve been a bit more with the Unshackled if the ending to BfA wasn’t rushed. Maybe Kelfin were considered for Allied Race status around that time. I assume Ankoan would’ve been the Alliance counterpart, which makes the most sense for storyline purposes and such.
As would I.
One of the cool things about unlocking Allied Races is seeing the journey from meeting the NPC race, working with them, and then seeing them officially join their respective faction is a really awesome and rewarding thing to see in-game. It’s a reason why the Earthen’s joining was a bit flat, since it was really pushed to the background and not really shown much other than a brief mention in the Earthen starting area.
For Kelfin, the Unshackled getting officially invited to the Horde should be shown in-game. I would imagine it as part of the Kelfin Allied Race unlock scenario, where it ends with that, you get the achievement, and then immediately get to make a Kelfin character.
Hopefully their becoming a member of the Horde will be shown should they become a playable race.
