The game would be better without the Faction Divide

Like Germany in 1940’s.

That wasn’t a monarchy, but OK, maybe I was confused.

The issue is a gameplay related one, not about lore, with a faction imbalance of there being more Horde players participating in endgame activities than Alliance. Making it increasingly difficult for Alliance players to find groups for raids and dungeons when all the big guilds and groups are on Horde.

It’s a problem that started a long time ago due to a mistake Blizz made and has slowly snowballed out. Allowing players to talk and group regardless of faction would essentially fix it.

And while civilians aren’t out chatting with the other faction, we adventurer champions regularly do run into the other side. So we at least can talk to each other. Everyone speaks human Common anyways in addition to their native languages. The faction governments would talk because they’re the world’s superpowers and have to interact, being a democracy or a monarchy doesn’t change anything.

No, but still single person rule.

I don’t see how we’re ever going to get rid of this faction divide if we keep niggling.

As someone from Moon Guard.

Undead and Humans should meet up again and work out their differences.

Which was just a game mechanic and not part of the actual story. The very first warcraft game was called Orcs and Humans.

In your original post, you seemed to be implying that factions should go away.

But letting them group up for certain activities is reasonable.

People already do this. And those who don’t, don’t care about what race they play.

The only people concerned with “not getting to play with my friends” don’t really play at a level where race/faction is an issue, meaning they can play whatever they want. They just choose not to do so for some odd reason?

So I’m an Alliance player posting on my new main after coming back to WoW after a break, unable to play my former main and 10 alts because all my guilds died… and Alliance on my server died.

That’s a whole lot of history to be forced to leave behind and I’m not doing well with it.

It’s gotten to a point where if cross faction guilding and grouping is not a core feature of 10.0, the expansion is a nonstarter for me.

What’s your approach to deal with the faction imbalance?

It’s really not a bad idea.

In the story of WarCraft 3 you literally team up as The Night Elf, Human, and Orc factions against archimonde.

not controversial to me! i just hope they never implement this (imo) bad idea!

red = dead :smiling_imp:

faction imbalance is a community created issue

Not even funny how many people this would bring to the game as well.

Know what’s never been a selling point, "All my friends are X faction, and all my characters are in X faction.

Then they unsub cause they’re bored, it’s time for WoW to grow up and join modern day MMOs, splitting your player base in half, is never a smart idea, especially considering a game currently bleeding subs.

Go play War Mode. Let the rest of us team up.

Nobody cares that you have Alliance pride, except you.

So. Go play War Mode and kill some Hordies. You should let everyone else group up if they want

They should just let us play together but still have war mode and battle grounds.

nah it’s a boring idea that only the final fantasy folks seem to want. i doubt it’ll happen

faction based game is faction based. you could always go to a factionless game if it’s something that’s gamebreaking for you imo

The game lets you play both alliance and horde. There’s no reason you can’t group up with others aside from the fact that you don’t want to.

If you had to choose a faction and play only that faction from the beginning, then that would be an issue.

The fact you can play both alliance and horde means that:

Most PvP is instanced content anyway, and War Mode doesn’t need to go anywhere in a world where we’re allowed to que or group with the other faction.

The factions are still seperate, we can just play with each other.

Except for they’re literally already talking about it internally according to Ion, just because you’re boring and don’t see the benefit doesn’t mean its not a popular idea.

Psssttt. Go to reddit. Pick a subreddit. Go nuts.
