The game would be better without the Faction Divide

I’m bored at work. So I’m starting controversial threads on the internet.

ahem
WoW would be better if you could pick any race you want, and form groups and guilds with any other player regardless of Race.

Players who want to be restricted to only their faction should enable war mode. And there should be a cooperation mode that is the exact opposite.

This would solve faction imbalance issues by letting players ignore the faction divide. And it would allow people to comfortably pick any race they want, and be able to enjoy the game with their friends regardless of what race they choose.

E.G: if player 1 wants to play a goblin, and player 2 wants to play a Dwarf. They shouldn’t be prevented from playing together.

No. It’s a change that I genuinely think is best for the life of the game. And I hope blizzard acknowledges it.

Guess we ain’t homies.

I’m horde through and through.

If we got an expansion that added a Tinker class, brought down the faction divide, and had plenty of story for horde and alliance, I’d be a happy camper.

Oh, and valor points are good. Keep them around.

this was a better post imo

No, factions are a core pillar of this franchise.

Letting people of the opposite faction group for raids and whatnot is fine as that happens in lore and it would solve balance issues.

But removing factions entirely would destroy a huge part of this game.

I think it’s fine as long as the factions in the rest of the game stay separate. No Alliance questing in Horde zones or hanging out in Horde cities, etc and vice versa. That kind of thing.

It’d be fair to remove the communication and partying barriers for gameplay and endgame, that’d fix the main issue, but the factions should stay independent beyond that. Otherwise it’d be good!

Not really. In The WarCraft rts, you could play co op multiplayer with people and play different factions together.

It would be removing a single restriction on players.

I’m not saying Horde and Alliance need to disappear. I’m saying that Horde and Alliance should be able to play together.

Here’s one:

PvE should be optional! This is World of Warcraft not World of Peacecraft so Warmode/PvP should not should be on at all times!

Use that next time to ruffle those jimmies.

Nah I actually wanna make the game better.

Most people who play this game never touch PvP.

This game has had a message of teamwork since WC3.

If you asked me what the greater “‘Message” behind world of Warcraft is, it’s “put aside your differences and work together to overcome the odds”

There’s no reason the dungeon finder couldn’t be both factions now. Or cross-faction parties for that matter. Can’t outright remove the whole Alliance vs Horde aspect though.

I think your boss needs to give you more work.

Cross faction parties for PvE content would be great, I’d also like cross faction guilds for long term players.

Some people make friends over this game and want to be in a guild together. It would suck if they just couldn’t do that.

The communication barriers are already down, since DH’s were released. Since then other races can communicate across factions in their native tongue, however, other races that are only on one side have no need to speak with the other, because that’s what the diplomats do.

Also, the Horde is now a democracy, so why would they want to have anything to do with a totalitarian monarchy ?

History has proven that totalitarian monarchies are the only way to enforce good.
