In a mode where it’s ‘bring the skill, not the class’ you guys are awfully critical that Blizzard does the opposite.
Not my problem.
Ralph would never do that.
Nah.
No.
Never!
Well thought out response.
Ion says a lot of things, sometimes they even come true.
I remember back before BfA when he said that upgrades would be upgrades. Then we ended up with some of the messiest loot in the history of the game.
I would argue that he’s not doing it to stick it to the elites, he’s doing it because he knows it riles up people who are against it. He’s just using the elites as a scapegoat while he stirs the pot.
so much rampant hyperbole … so little time …
There’s a reason why the infamous panda should have the unanimous number 1 spot.
It’s at times like this… that I wish Triplex was back.
Then why did you complain so much about corruptions having 10-20k dps variance even going as far to say people without BIS corruptions were trash and wont be invited to groups?
He was before my time. I have been playing since BC but only really started actively browsing the forums daily starting in 8.2.
What was his hill that he died on each and every day?
Oh, he was just a funny troll-poster (at least I think he was at least). He’d post humorous threads about how he hunts pandaren in redridge mountains. He’d take SELFIE shots to post with his “kills” as well. They were quite funny, though to be fair… was pretty much just a homage to panda ganking.
…but players that want to actually maximize their experience shouldnt be ignored because you guys have a phobia to being competitive.
That is the lynchpin. Competition. With what? Yourselves? Against other players? Against other servers? What is competitive about Mythic raiding?
Now I would assert the term challenge and competition are interchangeable, Mythic raiders want a competition, but all they see is the challenge of a Boss. There’s no real opponent, only a number check.
Mythic Raiders assume Mythic Raids are competitive because its more about the individual than actually downing the boss. They’ll beat you to death with numbers after numbers to prove that they can kill something.
Problem is WoW was never built around competitive anything. The exclusionary reality of Mythics should not be considered around something the game itself was not designed for, like PvP.
This is extremely extremely true and accurate, Ion pretty much said this aint overwatch, non skill factors will ALWAYS affect your performance.
Just because variance exists in the game and we don’t have 100% control over performance doesn’t mean we should just throw our hands up and accept even more variance.
The more our performance gets taken out of our hands the less rewarding good performance feels and the more frustrating poor performance feels.
Guess you havent seen the views on those…
And I watch so dont bother to go there
Some us dont need to a game to be our job because we already have one. There should be room for both. I say that as someone who has a Raidbots sub…
Posting in a Ralph thread. Okay, bye.

Against other guilds playing at the same level and same time commitment. The faster you clear (better you are), the more sought after your group becomes. It’s why many guilds list their ranking on their recruitment pages.
The more sought after your guild becomes, the more recruits you attract, more recruits leads to you being able to be selective with your recruits. The whole process feeds back into itself.
And once you start actually playing at this level… you realize that the recruitment boss… is actually one of the hardest bosses to overcome. Why wouldn’t you want to maximize your chances against the boss that literally decides whether you can even play the game or not.

That’s really dumb since the raids don’t have a time limit. What’s the difference between a raiding guild clearing mythic in week one than a guild clearing it in week two?
What a pointless measuring stick.

I mean… probably nothing. What’s the difference between a guild clearing it in week 2 and a guild clearing it in month 3… Well… 2.5 months worth of progression… Which is… actually a lot of effort and time.
Let alone… what about a raid group that clears in in week 4 vs a raid group that… doesn’t clear it at all.
