The game has to get harder

i just sitting here waiting for a healer. I started to think the game has to get harder. People already complain its to hard. When you factor in the WA that game has to get harder or they are going to have to remove / ban add ones that predict or simplify mechaniacs.

So the question im asking is which would you prefer the game to get harder more reliant on the WA or have the game toned down and the WA removed? or is there another solution. I just dont really see a way to balance the two where they live happy together.

I for one do not use WA and i dont even know how they or work i just see them in the videos. I do however use dbm.

Thoughts.

Tone down the mechanics.

Revamp them to be able to be seen more visually and audibly.

Remove weak auras / dbm etc.

It will never happen though, people are too used to it now. There would be a huge riot.

There is plenty of easy content that doesn’t require addons. Heck, many Mythic bosses are quite doable without any addons.

WAs see much more use for playing your class optimally.

I think you’re wrong.

They do. And those people will give up if you make it harder.

Make the game easier and keep weakauras/dbm/bigwigs as it is.
E-sports is cancer, games are supposed to be fun and enjoyable, let people play the way they want.

Make your case. You say it has to get harder because WA exist. Why? Why isn’t there an optimal difficulty and it doesn’t need to be harder than that?

I’m fine with there being a tier that only say 20% complete…and I don’t just mean of raiders, 20% of the playerbase. Since only a % even raid, it would necessarily be a higher % of the raiders.

Why must there be elitism? Some level unattainable by the majority who try? Show me a logical reason for game health that it should be this way and NOT just your preference or how it’s always been.

Does it need to get harder or just scramble the mechanics?

I don’t believe that normal needs to be harder than the last expansion’s normal.

It needs to be different enough to feel fresh… But that’s it

Complicated isn’t always fun.
That’s what heroic and mythic are for

They can copy paste ff14 telegraphing mechanics and ui, together with full controller support

I did a +11 last night, and I don’t want my video games to get harder than that. I understand people that enjoy that level of content, but I have much more fun with +3’s. Last night I found my skill ceiling and I am fine with that. I am also fine with other people enjoying what they enjoy.

There is no mechanic in the raids that isn’t presented clearly and needs action from the players. You can clear mythic raids without addons or weakauras. However the majority of raiders don’t like checking debuff timers, looking at their character model, or literally doing anything harder than watching their cds and listening to call outs. Of the minority that don’t need WA and addons but still use them (think world first racers and LFR only players), its still more convenient to have an addon tell you what to do, or simplify the planning process. The fights don’t need to be revamped to show video and audio cues, people just need to start playing with game sound on and learning the cues.

Mousing over de buffs and reading tool tips is so much fun. Those icons that have been re used a million times are so easy to decipher. If its not hard enough just get cutting edge and run + 30’s . Still need a challenge tie one hand behind your back.

We’re in a viscous circle

The dungeons are balanced around having DBM type mods so they have to make them heavy on mechanics to present any sort of challenge.

there was a time when hard was a challenge to the community, but now it is an obstacle.
Players want their buried treasure without having to dig for it.

Which “community” was that? Raid participation during Vanilla started out low and went down from there.

If you always hung out with people who were looking for a hard challenge, and avoided people who played differently, that’s how the game has always been. You get to choose your friends and avoid people who are not like you, right up to pretending they never existed.

Everyone was still getting their feet wet in Vanilla and the community was still growing.
Blizzard challenged the community with Sunwell back in TBC, one of the hardest raids ever for any expansion, because they wanted to challenge the community that was thriving on such difficulties. That was the feedback Blizz was getting from the player base. Of course, the age-old argument was blah blah blah why create content only a small percentage will see, the reason because of the challenge to test oneself.
The journey was supposed to be half the fun. All the stuff you had to do to get into dungeons and raids was a testament to your commitment to being good which in turn made the game fun and that goes for any form of entertainment and anyone who says otherwise is just blowing smoke up your rear.
Go play tennis and suck at it and see how much fun it is or how well you are received. Try saying “hey man I just want to hit the ball and have some fun, why do you have to be such an elitist” and see if you aren’t laughed off the court.
If contents being hard or exclusive was a sticking point this game would never have flourished from the start. WoW would have tanked or they would have nerfed everything to the ground, but the game did flourish and players came to it in droves.
Once Activision took over and tried to import their console gaming base over to WoW by making contents all accessible, that one community left and another entered and there is no way in hell WoW would ever see another Sunwell again, now you get LFR and everyone goes home happy.

The game’s high point was Wrath, widely considered super easy. There were only a few difficult fights, by today’s standard. You’re making your own story up to sell YOUR preferred style of game.
