It’s interesting to see a community council person point this out when the council forums seem really dead with no one bringing up the issues we’re trying to address on the wrath forums. Any thoughts on why people seem to be afraid to speak up there?
That’s true, but players are responsible for flocking to mega servers. If a queue has more players than the server can even hold online then clearly the situation in those servers is unsustainable. Just spread out, Blizzard isn’t going to force you to do it, the remedy has to come from players.
They actually auctioned off the old server blades lmao
No one expects the servers to be at capacity 24/7, your logic is flawed. Server pop != concurrent online players. Expansion launch is an exception because a lot of people will quit in a month. That’s just reality.
Why are you suggesting that the players are solely to blame? Blizzard let them do this.
They sought other players in an MMO. It’s the whole point.
If you believe anything this company has to say at this point… like, why? They lie constantly.
If they can’t do anything now other than let players transfer for free, they’re not ignoring the issue. They actually started paying attention to the issue by locking these servers down.
Doesn’t seem like they ignored the issue, you just don’t like their answer.
Yet here were are. Queues are 15,000 deep. I realize pops will simmer down, but there is no defending this one. They knew this was going to be hot. They knew they were going to draw massive numbers. They couldn’t provide. Period.
It’s not on players. It never should have gotten to this point in the first place.
Servers should have been locked years ago. If we all knew this was going to be an issue so should Blizz. Doesn’t hardware as a service allow for scalibility?
Giving someone the illusion of choice isn’t a solution.
Yes, they should have been locked long ago. They weren’t, now the overpopulation reached crazy levels. All that can be done right now is players transferring off the servers willingly. Blizzard sure as sht isn’t going to forcibly move players around, that would be even worse than inaction.
Their answer is akin to ignoring the issue.
Like throwing a glass water on a burning building and saying that you are actively trying to solve the issue.
Also if an airline overbooks a flight, how is that the passengers’ fault?
No the solution was get thier heads out of thier rear end.
Most popular expansion and they decide to not cap servers and removed realms.
They were basically making horrible choices. And then went with the we will just have the players fix our mistake and im sure there are plenty of brownnosers that will defend us.
I can eat 8 packs of oreo cookies or drive into a wall. Was that Mondelez, Ford motors, the wall company, or my own fault when the consequences show up? Is this a stellar blizzard response? not really but the players did do this over population to themselves.
Cap servers? would this not generate a similar amount of outrage? Players moved by their own choice to these servers and stacked them, wait times were a foregone conclusion. What should blizz have done to cut this short?
Which is fine, my issue is that there were a good amount of otherwise health servers that died due to players telling each other that anything not named faerlina or benediction was a dead realm, when this was not universally the case. Should there be accurate and published blizzard populations? oh hell yes there should be, however:
Would you even believe them if they did post those numbers?
Players flocked with generally unfounded worries of FOMO due to not being on a mega realm and then abused transfers to keep stacking those realms.
What should blizzard do right now to fix the issues?
What exactly do you want them to do now beyond locking servers and opening free transfers?
Not liking the answer is not the same as not getting one.
Again, they have stated very clearly what the options are, you just don’t like them.
Yes. Very simply yes.
Right now? Admit they messed up and work OT to make it right. Sitting back and telling players they chose poorly isn’t going to help repair their reputation.
