How is this mentality still acceptable at all as a game designer? are the people that out of touch? Your customer’s can’t play the game. There are mass queues even on the “solution” servers you offered free xfers too. One simple change fixes it. You’ve added same faction bgs, northrend supplies, chromie buff capsules, etc. Classic no changes is DEAD repeat DEADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Add cross realm already. No more queue or xfer threads. Just everyone playing the game. ez win
They opened transfers off Sulfuras as well. You can complain all you want, i’m just telling you the reality of the situation. You can sit in queue, transfer or quit. Those are the only options Blizzard gave us.
Your input serves nothing more than adding to the frustration. Everyone knows transfers are available, the point is that transfering isn’t a solution to the vast majority of players.
Players aren’t responsible for Blizzard mismanagement of server population.
Everyone knows the tendency is for players to go for the larger population, it’s not the player’s fault for seeking a better experience in the game they play, it’s absolutely Blizzard’s job to ensure that player behavior doesn’t lead to a degradation of the service they provide.
Free transfers was the answer during prepatch. The problem now is the servers that were transferred to now have queues just as bad themselves
The simple fact is the game just doesn’t have enough server space - it’s a very similar issue to what FF14 went through on Endwalker’s launch. The unfortunate thing is that “just get more server space” is not as simple a fix as people think it is. There’s a reason it took weeks to fix the issues FF14 had, because they quite literally could not get the equipment needed to create more servers. As for Blizzard, I highly doubt they kept their equipment when they shut down all their dead servers however long ago - hell, it’s entirely possible they sold that equipment to FF14 to help fix their issues. To that extent, one can reasonably assume Blizzard is in a similar boat currently: Not enough space to meet demand, inability to acquire the hardware necessary to create more space
For me, I chose a very high pop server because I knew that x-sever interactions weren’t in the game. I wanted to be on a server that I didn’t have to wait around for everything on. Granted, did that result in me having 6–10 hour queues depending on the day? sure. It’s unfortunate, and I’d like to think something could be done about it.
I’ve already posted the math in another thread, but I’ll do it again.
Assume that 10k is too many players per server. Also assume that at least a quarter million people are playing today. 250,000 divided by 21 server is… 11,904. The math was never going to work.
They knew it ahead of time. They botched it. Transfers are just a distraction to bring out the white knights.
