The Free Rank 14 Test Has Failed

because other people play that way, and they expect me to play that way too, and when thy find out i dont play that way they say things like yOu LiKe LeSs HoNoR pEr HoUr.

things like that in particular dont affect me any which way because idgaf what that person thinks. however, its not just things like that because it also favors elitism and changes peoples behavior. example: parsing; negating “mechanics” for the sake of parsing higher. this will eventually turn into parse, gear score, and achievement elitism (“X” required checking logs type of bs).

when i say it ruins the game it is hyperbole. it doenst literally ruin the game so that its not playable anymore, its just annoying and toxic and “ruins the game”

I’m in a guild that takes raid nights pretty seriously (42nd Nightslayer, 132 World) and even they don’t care if people rank…

I guarantee you it isn’t hard to find a guild that does not care whether you hate PvP or not.

Welcome back from your week vacation

Like being R14 ever meant anything LOL.

This is why I’m not PvPing max level until 70.

Dodging a bullet here by skipping 60 altogether until TBC.

I’ll prolly be wolfing it everywhere at 70 BGs because I’m not bothering to farm out my epic mount again until it falls in my lap like a shop buy or free gift.

it actually did used to mean something :expressionless: like, you would pause and check out some guy’s R14 gear and think “wow, now that guy is a sweatlord”. R14 gear was super rare compared to raid gear. now it’s gonna be more common than raid gear.

People insult each other over everything.

Thinking it ruins the game is hilarious.

Pretty weak mentality considering you can just ignore them.

That’d be like thinking all the maniacs on their headsets back in the old CoD days ruined the game even though you could mute everybody.

It makes no logical sense.

Cant wait for arena to expose all the AV afkers

This isn’t a new change. Era has had this exact system for a while now.

yeah, and era shouldn’t have this change :expressionless: are you trying to act like this is authentically vanilla or something? lol

i dont find it insulting, i find it incredibly lame. the xbox thing is a bad comparison and i havent experienced anything even close to something like that in wow, except maybe possibly in barrens chat, but still not even.

i can and do ignore people like that but it also becomes more and more common the further the progress goes it seems like. luckily i have a great guild that actually works with my schedule without making many if any sacrificed to the way i like to play the game or the integrity i think should be standard.

also, im not 13 anymore. i dont reall think its weak minded to not want those things. in fact i find it kind of weak minded to feel the need to engage in that sort of edginess. there is a minmax meta and the culture that follows with it is toxic af. its pretty lame, dude.

This has been the way it is since patch 1.12 in original Vanilla; apparently you did not get the memo.

It’s weak minded to thinking other people playing the game in a different way somehow ruins the game for you, when you don’t have to play like that at all.

It’s even more weak-minded to think how other people play an MMO doesn’t affect your own game.

Just look at Annis economy

It’s just facts.

Other people playing “sweaty” doesn’t affect you.

There are plenty of super casual people just leveling up, running dungeons, in Dad guilds where they don’t consume/WB, etc.

Pretty simple stuff here.

Someone playing sweaty wouldn’t invite a casual to their raid. Thus that casuals experience has changed because that other player is choosing to play sweaty.

A casual trying to join a sweaty person’s raid is the casuals choice.

They can play perfectly fine with like minded people.

Again, sweaty players don’t ruin anyone’s game because you can freely avoid them the entire time.

If a house is on fire in another city, it doesn’t ruin your life. If you freely drive to that city and try to run into the burning house, it will affect you.

Do you enjoy being wrong all the time?

It’s not going to be more common than raid gear. Most raiders aren’t even rank 7. They’re going to quit ranking before 10. It’s still a sweatlord thing.

I don’t know what part of 2 weeks of 450k honor to go from 13 to 14 is casual.

Agree with the fact that his new system is ridiculously casual.

Disagree with your suggested fix. I think the unhealthy part of the old system was decay. Which I still prefer to have the old system with decay over this new crap but ideally i’d prefer to get rid of the decay but keep the part that you have to be in top x% to gain certain ranks. The % can be modified. Wholesale grand marshal title for everyone is stealing from the classic experience.

Classic as a whole is ridiculously casual.

That’s what makes it so fun.
