The Forums Are No Longer Useful

Honestly, the game would be better off at this point if the forums were removed. I used to enjoy the discussions about the game, but the forums have become a place for people to complain and diss each other.

There is no longer feedback from the company and it’s just a back & forth of who can out-complain who to get their way.

I’m going to continue to play the game, but I doubt I’ll be back here until such time as they clean house.

How is this anything new. The forums have been like this for almost 8+ years now.

Your absolutely right! It is to the point of frustration now though.

So… I was on the forums when the game first came out and… it was the same.

I’m not sure what’s “now” about your comment.

Actually the trash talk used to be even worse because name and shaming was done all the time.

No longer useful implies they were useful at one point

Oh how I miss the Server Specific ones, those were the best for trash talk. Made a few friends on the Red side of things back in those days; after camping one another for hours on end in STV.

There are other places to discuss the game, like:

Reddit
Discord
The game itself
Group text messages
Other misc forums

The only difference now between 15 years ago, is apparently more people with a victim mentality.

I think the forums serve as a containment zone

this is blizzard, did you expect them to put in effort and/or man hours?

Your thread is no longer useful. You want your developers to “clean house” yet are constantly spewing forth repetitious and meaningless posts about cat crap wrapped in dog crap!

Okay, so for eff’s sake. They allow me to edit ,then they don’t. Anyways, it would be nice to be able to clearly point to the person to which I’m replying without the need to quote.

Okay, having said that. I very rarely post at the forums (in comparison to others), so the comment seems to be out of left field. When I do take time to post here, I attempt to make it meaningful.

they need to add class and profession subforums for tbc classic… that way people will go there and talk more about how the game operates specifically

right now every thread is just complaining about widespread problems

give us a place to discuss specific parts of the game positively

Seems apprapo

You’re not wrong. I see people saying you are, but you aren’t. The forums were different back in the day. I’m not saying they were perfect, but yes, Blues did show up from time to time; and the posts were better moderated, IMO.

It’s not just that though, as the content itself seems to be overwhelmingly back-and-forth nonsense about the same items. One imagines that endless redundancies could be merged or purged. Oh well. I’ve been considering bailing as well. Maybe a third-party website is the way to go. Enjoy your night.

Back during actual TBC and Vanilla the forums had far more diversity in the kinds of posts you would see and a lot more people posting in general.

Classic forums just feel like the same 9 or 10 people always posting in every thread, on multiple characters.

I’m guilty of that and I post way too much.

BUT, remember when you could have a signature line back on the original forums? People would get nuts with their signature lines

Yup people like yourself have made it garbage over the years.

So, stop complaining and start a thread discussing an interesting aspect of the game.

So as your post. Not useful as all.
