The flaws of Covenants have already been exposed

I guess I would be the minority if you only included people in these threads. Mostly because many of you are genuinely rude and shout down dissenting opinions.

I dunno why I bother arguing though, It’s clear I’m getting my way.

I want a chance to play the expansion as it was intended before systems are gutted due to “popular” demand.

You want to see something damaging go into the live game just because it was “intended.”

“Damaging”

It’s a shame we can’t play a version of the game to see how the systems actually work and give feedback on them before they go live.

If you’re still unclear on why people think this, then I congratulate you on finally coming out from under your rock. Probably want to hold off on reading up on 2020 news for a few days though…

There’s a difference between a “huge flaw” and something that inhibits toxic min-max mentality.

Just try to imagine the system as Blizzard intends, if you WEREN’T of the harmful opinion that you are playing “wrong” if you aren’t fully optimized in every way imaginable, so Blizzard must cater to you and hand every option to you on a platter. Imagine if it was okay to play what is mechanically enjoyable - in other words, if it was okay to have FUN in a video game - without elitists snubbing their nose at you for “choosing wrong”. That is the game Blizzard wants to develop.

If there is a flaw, it is the playerbase. Not the system. A game this complex should be about fun, not achieving an impossible balance.

If you’re still unclear why some people consider what you all want “Damaging” as well, well I guess I’ve just been arguing with a brick wall this entire time.

Things change, my views on this have fallen in line with the thread anyway.

Fun fact. You get to experiment more when you don’t have stuff like weekly lockouts on Conduits.

Adding severe penalties or long cooldowns on actually customizing your character doesn’t encourage anything but picking whatever is generically the best and never swapping.

it’s not a harmful opinion.

I have fun being the best I can be in every situation.

Interesting sales tactic. If people don’t buy my stuff, it’s them who are wrong! Sure, we’re still working on how that will help us sell to them but we’re hopeful it’ll work out in the Grand Scheme of things.

Just because they buy into your game doesn’t mean they can’t be a problem.

Botters buy into WoW and yet they are most certainly a problem. Just as a certain player mindset can be a problem as well.

Cool, but there are way more than botters and made-up toxic min-maxers saying they don’t like this stuff.

Imagine designing a game, this game is so numbers based that it’s only a couple of layers removed from an excel spreadsheet.

And then designing it like that for 15 years. Virtually everything you do, from class design to even the behind the scenes stuff of data collection is designed in such a way to make it simple(ish) to get a mathematical throughput from it.

And then telling them after those 15 years that they’ve been playing the game wrong all along.

It’s like Henry Ford rising from his grave and telling you that you’re supposed to be controlling a steering wheel with your butt.

It’s definitely a bold tactic.

Imagine if it was okay to experiment with all kinds of builds and see how they mesh together without being locked out of changing things for a week or playing with all your level 60 talents without an arbitrary two week grind.

Do you think Blizzard designs the game around botters?

Because they’ve absolutely spent the last 15 years designing the game around min-maxing.

Yeah but some people who drive cars get road rage, so obviously you shouldn’t cater to them.

(Hope that makes as little sense as what people are saying about Covenants. I’m new to this way of thinking.)

They literally haven’t lol there are about 5 antis just like there were in every flight thread pretending they spoke for a giant silent majority. Meanwhile the pro freedom side has a post on the beta forums now topping 3500 likes where it can’t just get flagged into oblivion by certain people.

And you both ignored the point I was trying to make in two different ways.

I’m done here, there’s no point to me posting if you’re just going to do stuff like this.

What does that have to do with me?
