The flaws of Covenants have already been exposed

I dunno why he’s coming after you rofl

You had no point to make. You want to punish min maxers you haven’t explained how this is positive for the game as a whole to not allow experimentation at will. If anything it’s going to drive sims far harder because you can’t just mess around til you find something that works. What you choose has to work at least for the week.

Read their earlier posts and you might. I unfortunately happen to have a really good memory so I remember stuff like calling pro freedom of choice people “special”

I think they converted

Which…was that being interested in optimizing your character based on numerical throughput is somehow equivalent to actively cheating within the game?

All while ignoring the fact that min-maxing has been the standard for the games life.

Saying that min-maxing in WoW is a “harmful mindset” is like saying that learning how to aim or control recoil in a game like CSGO is a “harmful mindset”.

What I don’t get is how people can’t see this is going to make simming even more important.

This is a rather funny fabrication as you well know enough reports will auto close a thread until it can be manually reviewed much like on wow classic you can get someone banned with enough spam reports.

Frostera seems to default to that when annoyed. I’ve been on the receiving end of it for something completely unrelated to this… Then they just turn it off like “okay we’re cool now” haha.

People seem to have the mindset that Covenants are going to make min-maxers throw their hands up in the air and just give up.

When in reality they’re no more complicated than simming different Corruptions.

I don’t want to punish min-maxers. Never in my life have I cared about “punishing” min-maxers.

What I do care about though is min-maxers trying to warp this game into exactly what they want at the expense of everyone else’s experience.

In fact, funny you’ve brought up conduits, because I never did. In fact, I agree that there should be at the very least a place where you can experiment with conduits if you’re going to be locked into them for a week. Personally, I feel that a more elegant solution would be to make changing soulbinds free but I wouldn’t be against reducing the lockout on changing conduits.

Well they are more complicated I wonder if Ion is getting a cut of raidbots premium membership because it’s going to explode.

Nobody is trying to warp the game into something except for the people who want to add more stuff though. For one, there are vastly more types of players than “min maxers” who are against the system as-is.

Also, you have to see that saying “don’t add this new thing” is basically the opposite of asking for something to change, yeah?

You don’t want us to warp the game back into what it 's always been like?

Conduits Covenants Legendaries and the rest of system lands all form an extremely complicated whole that will likely be responsible for at least 50% of your output in one way or another. This game has always been a spread sheet with some cartoon graphics tossed on top of it. Even during vanilla there was tons of math done on sites like Elitist Jerks. Hell this game is why I learned pre calc as a middle schooler just to understand what was being talked about better.

It warps so hard that it goes back around to not being warped. Dangers of warp travel, unfortunately. Warhammer 40k knows all about that.

This thread’s entire goal is to convince the devs strip away all power from the covenant system. If that isn’t warping the game then I question your definition of warp.

I was originally against this, but a few users here have managed to convince me that this thread has every reason to exist.

I’ve been looking around and trying to figure out the problems and my my they are glaring.

The criticism here provided are based on factual evidence and such so… I’m on the side of this thread now.

I personally do NOT want to be expected to switch covenants for any given bit of content, which is precisely what will happen.

It will not be a choice, but rather an expectation.

I’d rather they stick to their guns on this one because I don’t want to be forced to switch all the damn time.

Covenant system - new.

Yeah?

Don’t do new thing - not asking to change the game.

Get it?

No you won’t. What will happen if you can’t switch is you will get asked covenant and either not reply or reply with the wrong one and hear nothing back because the way they are setting up stuff you need specific covenants especially in M+

People still aren’t going to take suboptimal people if they aren’t friends they will just ask the covenant or more likely there will be an addon that will say it and you just won’t get invited. It will be the same as being an affliction warlock in M+ now.

If they are your friends then the only one who can make you switch is you.
