The flaws of Covenants have already been exposed

What have min/maxers done to you?

That wasn’t a response to you, it was to Frostera and mostly just bants. Sorry for the confusion, should’ve linked the statement in my reply.

Yeah I see that now, Froom over here whacked me with a bat I wasn’t aware even was an issue but it’s my own fault for ignoring the meteor coming at me.

Sigh… Well. Blizzard once again probably backed themselves into a corner yet again with their attempts at something new without thinking about its consequences.

If they don’t give this squeaky wheel its grease. There’s going to be issues.

Not really, but the rest of your post is on point.

God, I should’ve taken that name. So much better! It was originally Froof, because that’s how my niece pronounced druid, but had to namechange when I server changed.

This thread, posted yet again. I still disagree with the premise for all the same reasons.

If it isn’t an issue, can you reiterate? I’ve probably seen your posts before, but I’ve forgotten, awkwardly enough.

Lets be real. Most abilities in a vacuum are boring.

Chaos Bolt at it’s core is nothing more than a resource consuming nuke. It’s no different to Starsurge, or Obliterate, or Eviscerate, etc, in that regard.

What makes abilities interesting is how they interact with other abilities. Chaos Bolt interacting with Havoc is cool, because you get to fling a ton of Chaos Bolts at different enemies. Obliterate is cool because it generates resources for other abilities. Starsurge empowers other abilities, and so on.

Covenant class abilities are boring because they have to be designed at a class level, not a spec level, which means that they have to be designed in such a generic way, especially for Hybrids, that they’re workable for all three (four for Druids) specs.

If they were a new row of talents (something we haven’t seen since WOD for crying out loud), they could add far more interactions between the specs.

What can be asserted without reason can be dismissed without reason.

Do you mind advising what your points against opening the system were again if possible? Some people might have not seen the original thread and your comments.

It’s not new?

Forgive me but what existed before that was like this?

My memory is all void and oblivion…

Hey, I’m fine with that. The OP has made this thread so many times that the super majority of the posts could all be copy paste.

Artifacts, Netherlight Crucible, Azerite, relics, essences.

Are they inaccurate? if not, then there’s no problem with repeating your points.

No chance you’ll repost your reasons for us then so we can discuss them? I promise I won’t attack you, Frostera and I were enemies all of 20 minutes ago, now we’re frenemies.

I just sit across the table of Frostera now, watch him eat and silently judge him in my head.

Usually when that happens, it’s a very serious issue that op and many others are serious about,

And I think they are on to something. I’m finding myself more on their side.

You mean borrowed power? To put it on broader terms?

Yeah that’s getting really annoying if that’s basically it.

Broadly? Yes, though you can see a lot of similarities with the past systems themselves if you compare.

It affects anyone who values both gameplay and aesthetic/story. If you’re purely an rper (a small minority I would wager) it doesn’t affect you. If you only care about gameplay it affects you a fair amount, but if you’re in between it affects you the most. I don’t want to pick an aesthetic I enjoy and be locked into gameplay I don’t, or pick gameplay I enjoy and be locked into an aesthetic I don’t. Either of those will likely result in me unsubbing faster than I did in WoD.
