Servers need to have more layers active. My server, despite apparently being at least twice the size of a full Wrath server (according to Blizzard,) never has more than 1 Layer, leading to the most frustrating event to participate in.
I say this as someone who has won the STV fishing tournament 3 times, the Kalu’ak derby is absolutely horrendous. There’s no planning or no strategy you can really approach it with that actually matters, it’s either you get the lucky shark, or you don’t, and then you have to wait another week to try your luck. The STV is just a matter of finding fishing pools, or finding an area that isn’t crowded.
I can raid on a smaller server. You only need 25 people to make a raid and 5 people to make a dungeon. Don’t push your socially inept skills on me.
Then I guess you just gotta roll the dice. You were never guaranteed to win a derby. Easiest trick was to go for the early ones as less people were competing, now that’s all everyone has to do. The amount of people should go down as less people will play during the patch the more it goes if that can help.
Spoken like someone who has never managed a roster. There’s never a way for everyone to raid. If 33 people want to go, 8 have to get cut. Heck, some servers that have become 1-sided faction wastelands don’t even have 25 people of the lesser faction on at once.
The problem is that modern realms have far more players on them than the original ones did… yet the weekly win limit is still 1. They now need to accept SEVERAL winners or just drop the limit entirely.
