Spoilers from the Shadowlands introduction.
The Jailor makes reference to the “First Ones”, the ones that created the Shadowlands and Oribos and the Arbiter. When we escape, the beacon reacts to us and the Jailor mentions the Armies of Death coming for the World Soul of Azeroth. The beacon, presumbly reacted to the Heart of Azeroth, which Blizzard mentioned previously would still play a part in the story of the Shadowlands.
What if the Jailor, was the first soul ever judged by the Arbiter? What if he was the Titan Soul consumed by the Void that Sargeras cleaved in half? And the “First Ones” are beings that came before the Titans themselves and imbued worlds with souls.

That’s a lot of ifs, none of which have to be true for any of the other ones to be true.
Thats the entire point of the story forums, to speculate and discuss.

I’m not sure they mean the actual HoA neckpiece being mechanically relevant again; that seems unlikely, as they’ve got new systems of expansion-specific mechanics with built-in ability ad talent tech trees. It’s just a point of the plot that the player possessing it is part of why we’re able to escape the Maw when no others - including our powerful NPC allies - can do so. Details are lacking, but the implication seemed to be that us canonically carrying the HoA maintains some form of “link” back to Azeroth’s world-soul that lets us operate at our full power as living beings in the realm of Death when we otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

Jailer narrative confirmed is “The other Eternals betrayed me, the Arbiter shouldn’t be there, giving up your memories and sense of self isn’t essential” and the Archon realizes at the end that the Jailer is right.

Between the mention of “First Ones” and the storyline about the first Night Warrior, I wonder if someone at Blizzard has been watching the new She-Ra.

Two things:
- Floaty Dude says if the jailer “strikes [the Arbiter] down” it would destroy everything the First Ones built, implying the Arbiter is included in “everything the First Ones built”
- The snake found throughout Oribos and in the Eternal Traveler’s Xmog is properly biting its own tail like a proper Ouroboros in the floor in front of the Arbiter
Yeah pretty sure now the Maw is supposed to be where all souls go at first in the afterlife and the Jailer is supposed to determine where they go, but the First Ones and the Eternals betrayed him.

Sargerus’ quest was to set about and destroy demons and any other form of corruption. Then, he found this world soul. To me, that implies the universe was kickin’ around for some time before Sargerus destroyed that planet. (Was it Telogrus? Or was Telogrus just another void-corrupted planet?) So… Unless the Shadowlands/Arbiter were created in that moment (or close to it), I’d think other souls were sent to the Shadowlands prior to that.

I really hope this talks more about the Light and the great ordering of the universe.
Wowpedia says when the Light and Void hit, they created life forms which were the planets and then prime elementals and then naaru. (First ones).
(And since Khadgar thinks Elune made Xe’ra the prime naaru. This would shed more light on Elune.)
They’ll probably just establish Elune as a First One.

Don’t belong there according to Arbiter/Archon though. And Archon at the end of the questline admits what she presumed was wrong.
Also yeah Elune is probably a First One, that’s where I’m at too. Still have my money on Winter Queen being Elune’s mother and thereby Cenarius’ sister.
