Khadgar seems to suggest Elune created Xe’ra. Unless the old lore gets retconned, the thing that created the prime naaru was the Light.
I still think Elune is the Light and I really hope we get more information about it in Shadowlands. I think these First Ones could be more things Elune created.
Yeah exactly. So if the First Ones came first, and Elune is maybe a First One (or even if she’s not), and the Winter Queen is an Eternal/Not A First One, therefore it’s very much possible Elune is WQ’s mother.
I think the First Ones will be a tier of beings with dominion over multiple cosmic forces.
I really doubt Elune is The Light. I think they wrote themselves into a corner with that Khadgar quest. Because that’s going a bit far it would seem. I mean what makes the Night Elves so special that the creator of the universe wanted them? Aren’t Draenei more special?
So that tier thing would be really cool because Elune would still be very strong, but maybe she’ll get some company up there. I’d like to see what her void equivalent is.
I’m dreading it, but also kinda looking forward to smugly hating every word out of Ion’s mouth trying to explain how like… okay, sometimes… Like uh… Sometimes genocide is just the only answer.
Looking at this, I’d say Elune might be a “First One”, especially if she’s worshiped all across the cosmos, as I’ve heard some speculate. However, I’d say it’s just as likely that she’s a Titan.
I don’t think she’s going to be a Holy or Light entity, seeing as she’s always had a “Night Warrior” side. Then again, the Naruu/Lightforged have shown that the Light’s always had that “tyrannical conquest” thing going for it. But, the Night Warrior ritual definitely doesn’t, at least aesthetically, look like a similar process in, say, Lightforging. It’s all dark and spooky.
I think she’s gonna be an entity of balance: little bit of love, little bit of war. Or, an entity of protection: not looking for a fight, but will take on anyone that looks at her or her creations the wrong way.
The First Born(the oldest of First Ones) of Babylon 5(which Danuser is a fan of) were beings of Light just as the Vorlons were… the difference is that the Vorlons were oppressive and forceful of what they considered the one true path.
Interesting to note the Vorlons have tentacles when not in their disguises and Xal’atath calls the Naaru beloved brethren who have wandered from the true path…
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Naaru in their true forms look just like Old Gods but Golden!
The antagonist guy in that image you posted. It’s pretty funny that you kill him and then Kyrestia is like “uhhh okay maybe he’s right”
That plot is pretty cool actually. Reminds me of The Giver where a kid born into a society without emotion or feeling suddenly experiences the collective memory of humanity and doesn’t know how to handle it. Assuming I’m interpreting it the right way, Devos saw Uther’s memories and got really upset that he lost all of that in becoming a kyrian?
To be fair, the sense I’m getting is that whether their starting premise is right or not, the Jailer and his followers are very much not going about trying to change things the right way and still need to be stopped.
After all, while the Jailer seems to be convincing certain denizens of the other realms to willingly join his cause, within the Maw itself he and his subordinates are shown to basically be torturing countless millions of innocent souls to create soldiers for his gigantic army, replacing their former selves with broken and obedient servants, in effect doing the very same thing for which he’s condemning the Kyrians.
I mean. Uther is trying to reason with the Archon’s followers are first, and Devos also tries to argue with the Archon before being killed. Prince Renathal tried to lead a rebellion against Denathrius but got crushed. The Primus literally is gone and we don’t know why.
What exactly is the right way to go about rectifying an eternity of injustice due to your peers locking you away, stealing artifacts of your power, and feeding you scraps since the dawn of life and death in existence?
Umm…perhaps not doing the same things that were done to you to billions of other people?
I mean, I can sympathize with Helya’s legitimate grievances against Odyn, but that doesn’t mean I think she’s justified in spending thousands of years exacting her vengeance upon generations of vrykul in his stead.
Actually have an extremely detailed theory that not all Vrykul worship Odyn and many actually worship Helya given different uses of in-game assets between those who We Know Worship Odyn vs those We Don’t Know
I think the Arbiter is a construction of the Titans or the First Ones. She bears their trademarks as well as the blue color scheme of “normal” Argus.
I think the Jailer is in essence a powerful being, a void lord of sorts that represents death. How else would necromancy work without shadow? The Old Gods, they are nothing next to a void lord. The Helm of Domination also leads me to believe that it was once part of the Jailer’s ensemble or his armor when fully realized. Maybe Frostmourne was created from pieces of his armor?
Sargeras probably fought alongside the Titans to defeat the Jailer and when defeating him, learning that they couldn’t destroy him otherwise the machine of death on Azeroth would break. They opted to remove his helm (placed in Sargeras’ care) then remove the death powers of his soul and place it inside the Arbiter. Therefore rendering the Jailer completely powerless and inert.
When Sarg turned against the Titans he gave his lieutenant Kil’jaeden the helm for safe keeping. Which in turn he used to place Ner’zhul’s disembodied soul into it for vast telekinetic powers. The Lich King himself was a farcical representation of the Jailer on Azeroth. Hence why the LK was able to pull from the Shadowlands, but not 100%. Bolvar talks of having feint ideas of the Shadowlands but not entirely clear.
Makes sense considering the most prominent LK was Arthas and he built a saronite fortress (born from a being of shadow as well) in replication to Torghast.
Just my two cents.
Shadowlands has me honestly intrigued from a lore perspective more than any other expansion. I like that it is completely up in the air at this point.
The Jailer: Death comes for the soul of your world!
Both interesting ideas. It is curious that we don’t know what really happens to the soul of a Titan that dies. Seeing as the ones we know of were preserved in a manner due to Norgannon’s spellwork. I think it is fairly possibly he’s Telrogus (assume Blizzard hasn’t specifically said he’s something new). A powerful Voided entity or even a Voided Titan could fit the bill.
Ion mentioned parallels between the Death Pantheon and the Titan Pantheon…
The Death Pantheon imprisoned one of their own(the Jailer) and the Titans imprisoned one of their own(Sargeras).
Considering Mueh’zala is called the Son of Time and how the Titans are led by the Titan of Time one would wonder if the leader of the Death Pantheon is Mueh’zala’s father…
Of course that means that the Winter Queen is the counterpart to Eonar while Sire Denathrius is the counterpart to Aggramar and the Primus is the counterpart to Khaz’goroth(both forge armies and weapons)!
That leaves us to ask: Who are the Death Pantheon counterparts to Norgannon(chief Arcanist), Argus, Azeroth and Golganneth(lord of skies and roaring oceans)?
