Epic Vanilla AV will never be anything like classic, because the player base knows more about strategies for the maps then back then. The gear progression for the average player is well beyond that of classic for the same reason. The only way to change this is to buff the npcs beyond what was in vanilla, which wont happen #nochanges. Crossrealm bgs is the reason AV is not epic. In vanilla, during the night, with server only bgs, when all other bgs were down, you could always que AV to farm honor. There is no further need to discuss AV, enjoy your rep rewards and have fun!

If people know strategies better now, why is it that alliance seem to run around like complete fools and lose most games as soon as horde attack. Back in the day alliance dominated and could still win if horde decided they wanted a fight.
I’ve met more noobs in classic then was in vanilla. In vanilla you had to get good and see what works. Not blindly follow some stupid guide made by a mediocre player whom just wants those sweet sweet youtube / twitch dollars.

watching 5-10 horde run into 40 alliance mid… and no alliance dismount/attack… is disgusting…
It sickens me to see this… I have an epic mount, i have carrot on a stick, i can get to drek faster than everyone else… but what good is that if half the alliance raid is dead by the time i get there?
What kind of apathy for your fellow player is this? How could u just let horde pick off your slow players/players in the back? Cant u stick 2gether?
Why?! So000 many people just watch as 1-2 mages stop 20 ppl … it would take 1-2 seconds to dismount and insta-gib the horde…
Yet i hear stupid things like… just dodge them? Or… Run to drek in ghost form… Totally ignore the horde… just rush to drek… plz…
Is it because most alliance role PVE/RP servers? MAKE PVP SERVER VS SERVER ONLY… i know the caliber of players on my server would not make such a mockery of alliance as these fools do…

Yeah well that’s what happens when a strategy is really predictable and easy to counter. More people are understanding and the Galv → Drek strat involves dismounting and countering the 60% mount gank since the rest of the team is killing galv and the full group would gather up by the time he falls. (Which creates a much better Drek push btw)

You realize it matters not to alliance that horde get honor right? Your honor is only put up against other horde.
I was in a small group of horde that did this a couple days ago. We had 2 mages, me and maybe a hunter. The mages and hunter did their thing and I mopped up the rest. We had to have killed half the alliance zerg and no more than one or two bothered to dismount to help.
The alliance truly are pathetic when it comes to pvp and having each other’s back. If you shut down a portion of that zerg they’re helpless.
Base on my knowledge of vanilla usually when horde starts to guard the zerg alliance usually start to drop like crazy. So yeah.

Sorry but Horde are the zerg faction these days, Allies doing whatever they want in the AVs i’m doing galv, defending, rolling to victory everytime.

I have done many games over the last 2 days I have not seen this…by the time we at ball they are taking towers and GY at the end Most (not all) alli groups I have seen get less then 1k honor there have been a few that get close to what horde get, they are the ones that will rank the rest of the alliance zerglings played them self’s…They will realize it when the ranks come in next week there are some alliance groups I have seen in there that are stomping your whole faction in to the dirt in HpH
The rest the 80% of the alliance that zerg strait to drek and Don’t touch anything else in the BG
I certainly hope none of them expect to get high in the ranks because of the alliance that are actually trying to get honor…Now I just gotta hope I got more alliance zerglings then other horde again thanks for the honor.
Had an Epic AV last night! We summoned the Ice Lord, and after an hour of great 5v5, 8v8, etc. skirmishes across the map the Horde were finally victorious!

So was this 8 minute rush for rep done in vanilla or not? We get it that the earlier versions of AV lasted longer etc. But was this mindless get it done ASAP and do it until your eyes bleed a real vanilla thing?
No AV was never ever a zerg in vanilla. Everyone rushed to take or defend towers, always a mix of defenders and attackers. So it was pretty much a fight for inches most of the time. Who grinded AV exalted now vs vanilla, I am pretty sure it took months in vanilla? As a horde pvper i gave up on winning AV, but i got exalted with the other factions.
