Found a cool way of skipping him but it sucks because I want his drops. If you stand on the corner of the hill where the barrier is that will drop once he is killed. He will knock you up with gouge if your facing away and it will bump you so you can jump over the barrier. Then you can keep moving forward without killing him. Once again I know this is not a great solution but it is a quick fix until blizzard fixes it.
It’s a skip, but I don’t think it helps overalll. Lorewalker Cho doesn’t advance with you if you skip, and you need him to start the next boss (Norushen).
I couldn’t get this to work but I guess it doesn’t matter anyways since you can’t progress past Norushen
Adding yet another voice to the pile here.
Current work around as stated earlier in this thread is as follows:
Pop all cooldowns and burn each one at a time to where they skip their transition and start casting Bond of the Golden Lotus, and repeat this for each single one. You have to kill each within 3 seconds of attacking or they will phase. Start with Sun -> He -> Rook. Rook will do a channeled attack that allows you not to have to worry about his phasing.
Adding in that I’m experiencing this as well/.
Again, I don’t think people here are looking for a work-around. Good for you if you managed to do it. Did you do it on what difficulty anyway? Do you really want to have to do a workaround that might or might not work? Do you want a medal if you were able to do it, since the most of us were not?
Yes, again, some people have been able to kill them. Spending how much extra time?
I think we just want people to post reports, do bug reports online etc. AND get a response! And get this fixed!
I am just getting tired of people posting a ‘solution’ to this bug. IT is a BUG! This isn’t supposed to be this hard! I do not want to try solutions that might, or more likely do not work. I just want this FIXED!
Yes, I am tired and grumpy, I apologize. But people posting their solutions ARE NOT HELPING!
I keep reading all these “easy fixes” so here’s my super easy fix guys! When starting the fight make sure yer facing the bosses at a 32 degree angle, if the temperature of yer room is 64.4F (18C) please face bosses at a 34 degree angle or they may reset. Start off by meleeing He 3 times, then run around the instance perimeter, counter clockwise, I cannot stress that enough, until you hear a very distinct “click”. Once you hear the “click” remove yer hands from the mouse and keyboard fer 8.7 seconds, 8.6 wont do and neither will 8.8. I suggest setting up a timer. Once you hit the 8.7 second mark quickly start bursting 2 of the bosses. Which 2 bosses will depend entirely on how many empty bag spaces you have in conjunction with how many total bag spaces you have, eg. I have 36 total slots and 12 empty ones, so then I figured out that 36/12=3 (so that obviously means to not attack Rook.) It takes a lil time to figure it out so be prepared. Then when He is at 4% and Sun is at 7% you may then start attacking Rook once again. If they don’t all die at the exact exact same time then you must reset the instance and try again. Other than that it’s pretty simple! Would normally be running those but can’t so I’ll just write some junk to add to the pile in hopes the number of replies by us may actually get seen and we get a blue post. Thanks again Blizz!
I’m actually fine with people posting possible workarounds, or what worked for them, etc. I plan to try again later and see if I can manage a few of the ideas suggested here.
No, it doesn’t excuse the situation and Blizzard definitely still needs to fix this issue, because as you said, it IS very much a bug.
But I mean … hey, the tips aren’t completely falling on deaf ears. You can be frustrated and resourceful at the same time. XD
none of these “workarounds” do jack. Blizz just needs to fix this. Like NOW.
All I am looking for in this thread are those 3 magic words…It is FIXED!
First of all… Blizzard… FIX THIS.
Secondly I managed to do this after trying for about three hours. Here is my strategy.
Proof: imgur/a/K084sU1
ilvl 383 Destro Warlock… but surely applies to any classes that can nuke down quickly.
Save your cooldowns, don’t pop them at the beginning. When you are not nuking, stick to Immolate and Conflagrate, single target spells that build up your shards which you need to save for Chaos Bolt nukes.
-
Start by single targeting He down through his stupid add spawning phase until he goes into Bond of the Golden Lotus. He will eventually come back and follow you around but won’t spawn adds anymore. Every time he spawns an add, it will stun you and mess up your chances of nuking the other two down. DO NOT TOUCH THE OTHER TWO.
-
Wait until Sun starts casting Calamity, pop your cooldowns and nuke her all the way down. My rotation for this was Dark Soul: instability, haste trinket, imp attack (which I have bound to key Q), Immolation, Chaos Bolt, and Conflagrate x2. She will start casting Bond of the Golden Lotus and ALSO go into a dark meditation. That’s okay. Kill the add she spawns, she will wake up out of the meditation and resume at like 31% health. Ignore her for now.
-
Wait until all your cooldowns are up, just kite these fools around for a minute.
-
When your cooldowns are up, use the same rotation as you did for Sun on Rook. A good time is after He has gouged you and Rook has just done his stunny punch. Rook should start casting Bond of the Golden Lotus.
-
Nuke down He and Sun while Rook is casting Bond. I dropped an infernal on them, used Incinerate with the multi-target talent, pulled out all the stops here, and they all just… died.
So, to summarize… kill He first, slowly, single target, kill his adds, after he’s cast Bond once, move to Sun. Nuke her quickly. Kite for a minute to reload your CDs. Wait for a good time when you won’t get stunned to nuke Rook down, then AoE the other two who should only be sitting around 30% health.
Other observations:
- He is not broken.
- Sun is less broken - she doesn’t spawn more than one add either, but for some reason she is easier to nuke and goes into Bond more reliably
- Rook really screws the whole fight up. You have to make sure not to touch him at all until last and save everything you’ve got on him, and make sure he goes into Bond of the Golden Lotus - and kill the other two at that point. When his Bond of the Golden Lotus ends, he’ll get up and start attacking you in his phased form and you’re screwed. If you don’t kill him fast enough, he kneels down and phases and you are also screwed.
Good luck, and fix this Blizzard, this isn’t even the toon I need this on.
I tried several ways to defeat that boss… please fix it
And again, that’s why I don’t try to say my work-around will fix everyone’s problem. No, I’m not looking for a medal. I’m just trying to be helpful. If it can help even one person, then it served its purpose.
Sorry you are tired and grumpy. I am frustrated too. I’m pretty sure no one wants to do a work-around just to try to bypass this bug. Your frustration-fueled chastising isn’t helping any, either.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I did submit a bug report before even my first reply on this thread. I agree it’s a good practice. If you want something fixed, regardless of how much attention or care you think Blizz is putting into the issue, you should submit a bug report.
Only thing we can do at this point is wait for a fix. Venting one’s frustrations at others for just trying to be helpful (I don’t mean those who are in the “git gud” crowd) only adds to the frustration, and I take as an insult, personally.
Please fix this soon Blizzard. I was not able to run my 6 plate toons through to get the ever elusive Tusks of Mannoroth this past reset.
100%… and meanwhile I just finished SoO Mythic thanks to the helpful comments on this thread and my own experimentation. I still really want Blizz to fix it though
I was able to kill fallen protectors. However, after iron juggernaut the gate to get in to Org will not open. Sad day
Blizzard has recently laid off a lot of people. I guess there are not enough manpower for this.
Nevertheless, being stuck and trying to find out a workaround for three hours on this is silly…
Let’s see how many weeks this is going to take for them to fix. What a sunset company.
What sucks is I found a way to skip beyond the fight arena and move on to the next boss, only to find out that when you talk to the NPC you cannot tell him you are ready. So with this fight as buggy as it is, you cannot even utilize the terrain to skip beyond it and move on. I just want the pets and mounts from this raid, this boss has nothing I am even interested in.
I managed to adapt this thought process and got the fight down. I didn’t wait or anything to kill rook. I did:
1: He to 30%, didn’t care about getting to bond, just get through the two sha phases.
2: Sun started Calamity. I got her to 80% then shot her to 0% with a 5 combo point bite. She skipped sha and went straight into bond.
3: Pushed He to bond with a few shreds.
4: Popped everything, prayed to RNGsus, and bursted Rook to 0%
5: Just as Rook thought about triggering sha phase, I did a quick AoE and popped the kill.
I’m stopping here for now to wait for a guildie, cuz he wants the shoulders on Garrosh, so I cannot say if any fights after Protectors will be working.
