Was able to redeem the code from Australia - no VPN necessary.
Can confirm. I’ve provided codes to around a dozen people I connected with through a Reddit post. My method was to just redeem points myself and provide them the actual item code. None of this messing around sending them codes off the Mtn Dew packages, just one code they redeem directly on battle.net.
Because the promo with Mountain Dew/Pepsico is specifically only open to folks in the US. Stuff like this is generally locked off outside of the main country it’s being ran in due to different laws regarding promotions, contests, and the like.

One of my guild members that lives in Canada is straight up blocked from even being able to access the website. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a similar situation with folks in other countries. It doesn’t matter that you guys are either playing directly on the US servers, or are on servers that are connected to them. As you are not US residents, the promo is not legally open to you guys, and attempts to access the promo website from outside of the US will result in errors.
Well, every government is different regarding their laws on promotions and contests. It would be a similar situation if say Cadbury was running a promotion specifically in the UK for the players on the EU servers as their own laws over there would have such a promo only open to residents of the UK.
Outside of the US its Scammers Legit people making bank off people and People who have family or friends there to do it for them. For the rest of us we are just unlucky. Doing things Like this is why I have 0 respect for the Company among many many many other reasons too long to List here and without me getting Yet another Silence.
