Why? World first guilds can farm stuff fast enough without a temporary bonus, amd their whole community is on horde. A small, temporary bonus isn’t going to bring them over.
not now, but once upon a time…
i played horde my first 9 years and still maintain my very first toon. things are a lot easier on her for the simple fact there’s a vast difference in the number of people doing endgame content compared to alliance. while my raid group’s struggling to clear normal raids, i go pug heroics on my troll, gain knowledge of the fights, and come back to teach my alliance raiders what they should try doing to make it easier.
I don’t really see their suggestion as a bad thing. It literally only helps players.
And you honestly think releasing a new OP Class for the Alliance is going to increase participation numbers? You got Welfare Loot, you got Extra Bonuses in WM, etc. And guess what, I still don’t see the participation numbers any higher than they originally were.
EDIT: Also, there was a time when Alliance racials were broken as well.
yes. wow players have always shown a tendency to flock to FotM and new classes/races. IE- look at Dk when they first came out; allied races.
because a 15-20% extra of crap is still crap. don’t believe it? here’s some math for you: 30% of say the usual 60 rep. reward. .30 * 60 = 18. we get 18 more rep than you for getting farmed. yeah, that’s pretty OP if you ask me…
yeah, and what happened? a lot of big horde pvpers faction changed to become humans for the double dps trinkets. what happened after blizzard nerfed it? they ran back to horde.
Some people hate it when other players can play a way they dont agree with, the kind of player who doesn’t do pet battles, and would like to see it gone just because.
He can stay HORDE FOR LIFE, but if other people can play a different way his fun disapears into the aether.
But that’s what they did to help players move to the horde. Check out Ion’s interview in Forbes. He said horde racials were still only mostly balanced.
Which is why Blizzard needed to do something ty help the horde. They created Belvesso there would be a pretty class to join for those Alliance who weren’t into mud and bones and then increased horde racials to the point that even Ion admits caused a talent drain from the Alliance to the horde.
The problem is that they “forgot” to turn off the spigot once the horde gained even ground.
I dunno what to believe.
People in here claiming that the Horde is OP when you play one or it is all Horde BIAS.
/facepalm
If you want to see the problem with participation numbers, look at how easy it is to get gear, and then see all the WF/TF/Etc without even having to set foot in a raid or dungeon.
Look also at how discouraging it has become to raid or let alone, do end game content.
Edit: woot i can post links now.
You…you do realize they transfered back a week or two later right? They are still a horde guild. No temporary bonus is ever going to be a selling point to permanently transfer to alliance. Not to mention that that temporary bonus didn’t even help them win world first. They still came in second (as usual).
Man how times have changed. Back when I first started playing wow, there seemed to be more Alliance than horde, now not so much. Not even sure what could be done on Blizzards part to fix this issue with out pissing off a lot of players.
They went Alliance for the gear that was available and then immediately transferred back to Horde. Let this sink in. They’d rather be World 2nd on Horde side, than be World 1st on Alliance.
I mean.
Most people knew this expansion was joke far before we realized that the imbalance (in terms of mythic raiding) is pretty bad lol
They even admitted that Classic an over decade old game is better what they have now lol
“You think you want it but you don’t except when our game is a literal dumpster fire and then we suddenly need to cater to people to get our subs back”
Maybe people prefer playing Cows,Orcs, and skeletons instead of squids, dogs and humans.
Ive played both factions on and off, i keep coming back to my old tauren.
Classic is coming and guess what going Tauren again.
They sure weren’t worried about pissing off Alliance players when they were helping the horde.
This has absolutely nothing to do with blizzard. Not their fault that your faction just role plays all day in goldshire.
I see just as many people all for it as I see against it. So I don’t think this nail that you speak of is all that “final”.
In fact I see cross faction grouping as a good thing for the game’s health and longevity. Keep your factions, remove the grouping barrier.
Because the world first races does not distinguish between the factions. Heck, that is another thing Blizzard could easily do. Server first being server first Alliance and Horde. As oppose to just having one.
- my hypotheses requires racials not to be a factor, it still is.
- a large enough gear bribe to the lower raiding side(maybe increase drop rates) will ultimate convince people to switch over.
You left out how some members didnt transfer due to PvP titles and they would have been missing multiple core members if they stayed alliance.
But dont let facts get in the way.
