The end game grind is just to much!

That’s exactly how I feel, and I know many others too. Mostly the people who quit.

That system doesn’t work now because of four different raid difficulties and Ion’s insistence in turning WoW into a seasonal game that resets every content patch.

Playing Classic, it was super cool getting the Lionheart Helm crafted since you knew it was BiS for the whole game and you never needed to upgrade it. Same with a few other slots. Knowing you were done was such a stress relief so you had time to do other fun stuff unrelated to your gear.

In retail, every new patch you need to get all new gear for every slot–and what makes it worse is that “conduits” and “shards” are basically just more items slots you need to fill.

So, in Classic, when AQ came out, I really only needed upgrades in like 8 of my 15 item slots.

In retail, you essentially have 25 item slots (since conduits and shard slots are filled by drops) you need to replace EVERY PATCH. Plus, those items slots come in different ilevels and can upgrade, so it’s even more burdensome.

If you don’t enjoy the gameplay I’d suggest you just save your money and quit, or only play on the last patch when all the catchup mechanics are there. Blizzard has their vision and they’re sticking with it, don’t waste your time yelling into the void.

Its just what are you going to grind for the day . if you have alts figure 45 min each for the new daily’s in what ever its called still maw to me . (I got I think 7 lvl 60S there your looking at 10 to 14 hours a day . that’s to do daily’s , raid and daily’s . Then if you want a lego ad 2 to 3 hours per toon . Good luck I am retired and I still do not have time to plat this game for more then 1 toon . 2 to 3 hours waiting in lfr ya sure . Good luck all .

So you are finished and you quit the game? Or is this just one of those “I’ve never been a casual or met one, but as a mythic raid logger I know exactly how they think. If they get a piece of gear they’ll declare they won the game and quit.”

I think they just cant leave the game system alone! I mean we dont need all these gimmicks to keep interest, Torghast, legendary grinds…etc… Just make it like it used to be! Raid content!, and new dungeons! Thats all it was in the beginning… they keep trying to re-invent the wheel… no need! The only currency we need to have is gold… not the 30 other currencies, Anima,Valor, gems, sockets, tokens…etc! Let the crafting system mean something again. and for gods sake leave everyone characters alone! quit trying to balance everything! Players can adapt to get the most out of their class! This might be too little too late now and I’m not sure they even care at this point.

OK… go ahead … start the bashing… Im sure ill get hit by the wow millennials now

agree that slands has gone overboard and feels like a chore instead of fun

in fact most of the time I’ve spent in slands has been trying to find the fun instead of actually having it

Not to take away from the fact that it is a grind, but this is also an mmo and is kinda grindy by nature. People fuss about not having things to do, then when lots of stuff is added to do they complain about it being too much or not having time. People complain about the game being easy, but if the slightest difficulty is introduced (such as when Cata dungeons first came out, or inferno difficulty in D3) the community cries until the game is easy again.

There always have to be carrots to chase otherwise people will stop paying the $15/mth. Now, whether said carrots are fun to chase or feel like chores is a whole different discussion

There is a lot though. I can’t keep up like I used to.

Hey. Invite me to get some achieves pls :persevere:

So, currently the game is set up to reward you for playing whatever content you like.

Renown, Conduits, Legendaries, player power, etc drop from raids, mythic plus, Torghast and world quests.

It’s as easy as playing the content you enjoy and letting your “requirements” roll in.

I get the vibe that people simply don’t enjoy playing for the sake of playing anymore.

Your not required to do anything outside of exactly what you want to do.

this is wildly inaccurate with regards to pvp

and somewhat inaccurate when you come to people who feel compelled to do M+ AND raiding AND korthia AND torghast AND grind conduits just to stay competitive

the entire game is designed to push this motivation, saying ‘you are not required’ isn’t the big picture nor does it accurately reflect how the designs affect human behavior

True, but the lion’s share of that is the mandatory Mythic+. Korthia & Torghast are trivial.

it can be to some players, but to others it is breaking them down because they don’t like some part of it

the game is really different now from when you really just had to either raid (including lfr) or pvp

It IS really different now.

We actually have an option outside of raid or die.

Mythic plus can still be ran in guild groups or w friends and the timer can even be ignored(for those that claim that as a prohibited barrier). You will still get loot on the spot AND at the Great Vault.

Before M+ dungeons where highly developed content that was ran once or twice and then became irrelevant.

Now it’s an infintely re-playable source of content for those that enjoy it.

Heroic and normal dungeons are still there.

I just have trouble seeing all the hate for M+ in particular.

The hate comes from many places. Some people think 5-man content is boring. Some people hate doing things on a clock. Some people resent that they MUST do M+ because it’s the easiest/fastest/best gearing method in the game by such a ridiculous margin that it outclasses everything else there is.

Yes, the time requirement to grind is unnecessary even for mythic raid. Covenant change, re-doing story, choreghast.
I would cut these 3 out, delete legendary, choreghast and covenant systems.

I would also bring back old set bonus that is disabled in pvp instead of dominations and that’s it.

You have a very long time between major content patches. Take your time, you don’t have to do everything every day and every week. Just because it’s there and you can, doesn’t mean you have to or should force yourself to do so.

Thats why I said the original Valor system should have been used. Instead we got a horrible version that benefits almost no one.

Where all the rewards maxxed out at Normal raid difficulty quality?

Okay…

Those are actually easy to earn and much like legendary items the power is front loaded on them. Now if your BIS is tied to CN, that is a problem. They did add a way to buy a random legendary memory but this should honestly be changed to allows you to just select the one you need. I had a friend go thru this system recently and between grinding out the easy to get ones (ie dungeons, torghast and such) he was able to get the “pool” small enough that he got it from one of the “conduit upgrades” you can get in Korthia.

That you can complete in a week…

Which you can get enough soul ash to buy your legendary in a couple of runs, remember there is no cap anymore and you can farm Torghast for soul ash. The power difference between a level 4 and 6 are not nearly as massive as people think.

For a brand new player yeah, for an alt not really. You can already package up soul ash to send to them, you have gold reserves for them to use and you can send them the ilvl 200 Korthia armor boxes to jump start them.

Of course if you want to do absolutely every possible grind, it’s going to be a lot.

I’m not saying that content doesn’t exist.

I’m saying it’s not at all a big deal to avoid it.

Like I said, gem sockets take so long to get that there’s not much point. You end up using them to farm what you’ve already done rather than to progress further. Not worth the effort for only that.

Nothing else Korthia offers matters other than the Domination Shard upgrader, but you don’t actually have to do anything in Korthia other than… go to the vendor for that.
