The end game grind is just to much!

I say it’s not a grind because you can do literally whatever endgame content you want for other reasons and you will catch up on Renown. There is no real specific “Renown Content”. You just play the game. Can you grind it out by doing every little thing you may not want to do? Yeah. But it’s a week or two of doing… whatever you feel like. You know, work on standard gearing, and you get Renown. That’s why I say it’s not a grind. You’re almost never specifically going out to hunt for Renown, it’s just this thing you get automatically for other activities.

First few ranks are dirt cheap to the point that even poor plays can afford it without grinding or paying.

Legendaries are frontloaded.

You don’t need to worry about getting Rank 5.

5 new item slots… on a secondary drop that doesn’t compete with your actual drops. Kind of a moot point.

Also, no, you don’t need to upgrade them. Can you? Sure. But, much like legendaries, conduits are HEAVILY frontloaded. Having them is the big deal, not having them at max ilvl. And the raid conduits drop at high ilvls to begin with.

Again, does not compete with standard drops. Moot point. “More item slots” is only relevant if you actually have to win that many more things on the same rolls.

I will acknowledge that there’s a lot of busywork and grind involved if you want to get every little tiny shred of an advantage. But if you just want to catch up to 90%+? Or want to play an alt at that level? It’s basically nothing. You play the game for Renown, and maybe you do a week or two of Torghast (see: 2-4 runs) for a decent legendary.

It’s a very depressing grind for sure. BfA had a good mix of different grinds with good amount of different destination travel to keep me comfortably satiated from the feeling of literal work. SL grind feels underwhelming when you’re trying to immerse yourself which gives no pleasure from this xpac ambiance while doing the grind. Korthia being the exception is actually a nice zone that is way over-stuff with mobs. I’ll say tho, the raiding is actually fun, but everything else feels like trash sent to hobo out of good will of the producer.

What are people even grinding on their alts?

The story quests to unlock the 3 soulbinds?

Gear, conduits, and renown get thrown at you from everything.

Your main can send you soul ash for your legendary.

Just kinda, play them however you want?

True.

Doing the same things over and over is “video games”, actually. Since the beginning.

Perhaps reading a book would suit some people in this thread better? As long as it’s not repetitive. Stay away from those dime-store romance novels!

No, it wasn’t.
And we know it wasn’t because we just had classic.

There’s a huge difference between classic (which has 15 years of data-mining and simcrafting driving it) and vanilla (where many players were lucky if they managed to walk in a straight line).

Thank you, this was actually helpful and constructive. I agree with your points.

Can’t say I relate, I have 6 characters that are all geared enough to do sanctum normal mode and all I did to reach that point was one (low) dungeon key each week on each alt. Korthia speeds along gearing even more, geared out my newest character in under a day by just giving him armaments, which are very easily farmed. You can also do dailies for gear, which is just like 20 minutes out of your day each day.

Work smarter, not harder. Classic/TBC is like 30 times as much work to gear in comparison, retail hands gear out like candy on halloween.

Yeah this is why a lot of people are going to other games…I’m only subbed for tbc classic , after I hit max level and saw how it all was , I was like yeah…I’m out.

But, like, youre only lvl 43. How would you know what the endgame is?

This was the toon that popped up when I posted, didn’t see the point of logging into my main(hunter)

You also have to grind raid right now for domination sockets and to have an active set. You have to grind keys for gear given some trinkets nare really broken. With the final thing being you have to run keys for the vault for chance upgrades.

Like you glossed over the basic stuff, yet if you want to mythic raid you have to do the things I mentioned above, and even beyond that at points in time.

Hey mr. white knight, you forgot conduits. Korthia/archivists codex rep for conduits and gem slots. And torghast vaults for 252 ilevel conduits.

As far as I know, you don’t get it from wrath of the jailer. I didn’t get renown for it on my alt. And the box of many things (another new system to grind).

And all of that is just grinds. Nevermind the low drop rates and stupid RNG that is in every system in the game (especially the great vault).

LOL, I was just messn’.

I dunno about you but my conduits are pretty trash, even fully upgraded.

So you’ve upgraded them to 252?

I have 9 at 252 currently, including most of my main spec ones.

I still think that the difference between 140 and 252 is still significant enough to warrant caring about it. Also, what about the rest of what I said in my comment. I noticed with your replies that you just nitpick everyone - picking out only one or two things they said and ignoring everything else.

I reply to specific points.

You mentioned about not getting something from Wrath of the Jailer but I’m not sure what you were talking about. Do you really want me to quote a portion of your post and say “I don’t know what you’re talking about here but I’m replying anyway?” Because that seems silly.

And then the last part was general ranting from you about nothing in particular, and I always ignore those. If you want to talk about specifics, sure, I’m game.
