The difference is Arcane has to have the forethought to set up that damage window. BM does not.
While Destro is a simpler spec to play it still has to stop movement and plant or its CDs are wasted. BM outside of damage immune phases can use CDs on CD without worrying about mechanics and thats where the big difference is.
BM used to have some skill in managing barbed shot stacks but the new tier set removes that entirely .
outperforming lower skilled/geared players isnt the same when comparing equal skill/gear
Umm, Easy is Subjective, Back in Legion I mastered all three Rogue Specs and was killing Tanks in PVP like it was no one’s business cuz it was easy. But, that’s my experience and opinion.
Case in point, There’s no guidebook sayin’ “Go do BM Hunter, it’s easiest” Ignoring Wowhead, Icyveins, Raider IO and so forth.

What else do we bring to groups if we don’t have damage? Don’t say “Lust”, 'cause we lose one of our defensives when we have a Lust pet out.
Reducing specs is not the same to playing at a 90th percentile and playing it properly.
Good hunters use the Trex because it gives Leech and lust
I agree that BM hunters are easy to play, dont believe their dps is that high and, what further isnt spec easy to play?

Then you arent playing with any good ones. They are top 5 in the current raid.
Even then you can still swap between pets. MM still summons a pet for lust timings in keys if they are the lust.
Its all subjective, thats why posts like this are silly. Youll never have a true comparison unless its 100% bots.
There will always be skill/gear differences regardless. Thats why my example works so well.
Even now running against higher ilvl bm hunters, i still top meters. Skill>all.

WC logs at 100% or 95% percentiles.
Im not disagreeing that skill doesnt trump everything else.
But playing a class at a 95% percentile shouldnt be close to beat a BM hunter at 75%
the class that takes the least amount of effort should not be the top dps in the game.
It takes effort to even want to begin to play a hunter. That should be enough. They also bring nothing to keys and people basically don’t want them in keys over other options at all.
You’re acting like that’s not what I already do during keys. You’re missing the point entirely. Hunters are literal glass cannon during S3. They don’t bring anything to the group EXCEPT for maybe Lust if the group doesn’t already have that…or if they do then they lose a defensive.
BM is easier than elemental? I find that hard to believe.
