Reasoning with people here is out of the question. It’s best to just make fun of them. The sooner you realize that, the better the forums are.
Reported and restored twice, early on. Surprisingly, given the reception of some, not once thereafter.
That being said… why did you think this thread in particular would be deleted? I don’t think this should be a forbidden or taboo subject. In fact, the perception that this is taboo subject matter is all the more reason to make it visible and discussed. Representation matters.
I don’t feel that way in any way, shape, or form. I just have a basic understanding of the type of people that frequent this forum.
The subject is considered taboo because we haven’t exactly figured out how this works in the real world yet as a society. Why bring something like that into a game that’s already full of turmoil? That’s quite literally like dumping gasoline on a dumpster fire.
Agreed! But with time and a fleshing out of the story. I don’t want another Pelagos butt-pull.
Exactly. Projecting.
Oh, please. That’s such a ridiculous comment to make.
You haven’t had anything of value to add in any reply. Your “back at ya” nonsense is just a bunch of childish noise.
Give the OP another glance. I touched on Pelagos and why his addition didn’t “work.”
The beauty of this particular implementation is that it can fly under the radar. It makes complete sense from an in-world perspective. If you just want to play the fun dragon race and class, you can play the fun dragon race and class without putting an ounce more thought into it.
But if you’re looking for this kind of representation? It’s there. It doesn’t need to be spotlighted, nor put upon on pedestal, nor implemented in a way that makes it irrelevant next patch. It’s an addition that doesn’t call attention to itself, yet is here to stay.
In other words… a good example of queer-coding done right.
Why is it ridiculous? You and everyone else who have taken issue with this thread actively chose to participate in it. Nobody “forced” or “pushed” anything.
Maybe take a look at the grand scope of the thread and realize that OP has been civil throughout most of it and has reiterated points worth talking about.
And your feet stomping in a thread that concerns you none (nor do you have a clear interest in it) isn’t childish?
Again, get over yourself.
It doesn’t fly under any radar when you make a thread telling people this is the only race for non-binary.
It’s like you don’t even comprehend what people say.
Well, it was a decent run of 4 billion years or so. Better luck next time.
Nowhere did the OP say this would be the only race for non-binary, you have been putting words in opposing views posters throughout this while thread, been called out on it and never addressed responses about it. You keep doing it now. You also assume everyone that plays wow goes on the forums (and specifically read this thread, which you can choose to ignore), so yes, it will still fly under many people’s radar in game.
Throughout this thread you have been nothing but aggravating, you are the definition of a troll.
The irony of you saying the OP isn’t comprehending what people say is so over the top I can’t get over it.
Have you never once asked yourself why the idea of people ignoring you or you putting people on ignore is so common when it involves you?
All I’m saying is that you’re being disingenuous.
Weird that you popped back up right after the scientist ran.
I am not, I could say I am an astronaut, do the same thing that person did and post the first lines that come up. So to you that would make it proof?
Lies happen here daily, if you want to believe everything people claim to be here, you have a real jaded sense of how forums work.
Did you guys know dragons could turn into male and female humanoids since at least 1974?
If you have that attitude about everything online, why are you even on the forums. You have to understand why people stop engaging with you, there is no actual point talking to you.

I don’t see a point to adding nonbinary as a gender option simply because it would add literally nothing to the game–outside of when you initially create the character, and you see the button labeled as such. In terms of aesthetics, you can create a male or a female to look however you want at this point (within reason). I’m not against people expressing themselves, but this seems like unnecessary time spent for something that doesn’t “add” any substance to the game

I have plenty I talk to all the time who are genuine. Have no need to pull all their alts out to prove non points.
I get you want to think everyone is telling the truth, this is the WoW forums. So please, since you are so new (snickers).
I don’t take 9 post alt bait. If you had read this thread you’d know that, but come on, we all know what you are trying to do here.
The concept of gender-swapping transformations in myths and legends has existed for a long, long time. Usually not portrayed in the most flattering light, but existing nevertheless.
That being said, I wouldn’t call that type of stuff “queer-coded” as “queer” has a very specific modern meaning.

Again, that’s the beauty of it - they don’t need to add any kind of specific option for this. It’s already implicit, as the true dragon form does not change based on gender selection, whereas the visage form (how that dragon chooses to portray themselves) does. If you want to view your character through the same lens that portrays Chromie (as a dragon assigned male at birth, but chooses to identify as a female when in visage form), that’s a perfectly reasonable and logical read.
And if you just want to hit male and make the assumption subconsciously that your dragon is male and presents as male, that’s completely fine, too.
Weird that you popped back up right after the scientist ran.
I was in this thread from the start, so you’d be wrong to assume anything of the sort.
Though I’m sure since you’ve already told yourself this, there’s little I can do in the way to convince you otherwise.

So you conveniently avoided my talking points early on? Cool.

I am sure. But please carry on, you are making my boring afternoon fun!
So you conveniently avoided my talking points early on? Cool.
Nope, because I didn’t even know you were in this thread until I checked back in this morning.
Sorry to burst your conspiracy, but I don’t spend every waking hour of my life on the forums.
Thiernax and Qadarin
Yeah, these characters were done right. It’s like Star Trek handling complex relationships vs modern marvel comics. One treats their characters like human beings and adults with real world issues and the other treats them like a mouthpiece for the writers world views. Respect to these two characters was given and they’re treated like adults and that’s all that needs to happen.
However, Chromie and Pelagos were examples of what not to do.

You sure?
I mean, again it’s so weird, maybe not on this toon right?
