Got a fated normal [The Devouring Cold] 1h sword the other night and it appears the ability “Adjust your weapon” isn’t granting me the alternative appearance and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.
I submitted a bug report but it’d be nice to know if it’s not just me.
No, it’s definitely a bug, as I also got this weapon and having the same issue since Tuesday. Thank you for also reporting on this.
I submitted a ticket under a “transmog bug” but the eta response from blizz is about 6-7 days… hopefully it’s sooner rather than later.

yea still bugged…just got it lastnight and it looks like you put it on the back but when you sheath it…right on the hip. sucks it doesnt do what its suppesed to do
Was bugged on the tournament realm when I was messing with it earlier this week. Seems between 9.1 and now it got broken.
Still bugged on 16AUG2022.
Thought maybe they’d fix it with this maintenance but I suppose not

Its not bugged. You click it once to unlock the second appearance feature.
After that you go into your transmog appearances screen on transmog vendor and when you click the weapon to select it there are two different sub options to choose from. One on the back and one on the hip.
Works fine for me.
If youre trying to swap the appearance just by ckicking the weapon (the text is misleading) it won’t work that way.
Fated or non-fated version? The (normal) fated version currently is not providing the secondary appearance as others have confirmed above. Not appearing under the transmogrifier either.
Oh that may be why, I just have the heroic version. Didn’t realize there was a separate transmog appearance for the fated version just figured transmog wise they’d be identical.
I think they share the same appearance in the tab however the fated item for it might have been released with a broken on use ability ( normal that is, haven’t gotten a heroic one to test )
I am having the same issue.
Just got it on Heroic Fated, tonight.
Guess its the fated version that is bugged…Because mine won’t unlock the back option either.
Even tho the ‘‘on-use’’ effect is there, you can click, the character animation is also there…nothing happen

The non fated version of the blade works just fine, at least the Heroic version does.

I did get a ticket response and the GM told me it was being looked at so hopefully in a future patch we can have it working again!
Doesn’t work on the Fated version of the item. I’ve clicked it idk how many times and the sheath location hasn’t changed nor has the transmog option unlocked. My character does a little animation reaching for her back and a sound plays, the use effect starts a cooldown, and that’s it.
Can confirm still bugged for the Fated version.
