The deserter debuff is a problem for Classic Timewalking - do something

The fact that people can kick someone at random when 4 out of 5 bosses have been downed and give them 30 minute deserter debuff is an absolute problem that needs to be addressed.

what solution do you propose?

the same one we’ve been asking for in the past 20 threads.
Kicked people should NOT be getting debuffs.

they didnt use to.

but then they learned that they can bypass the debuff by forcing groups to kick them.

Zone into your timewalking dungeon
It’s one of the longer ones
Tank says “im not doing this, kick me”
You do it
Next tank says the same thing
Repeat as many times as you like

again
fringe case hon  pick a poison
either way this is going to suck. the current way hurts the most people. The ONE scenario you’re naming? not often enough and relaly not that big of a deal.

It’s not a fringe case though. This is exactly what happened before the deserter debuff was applied to a player who got kicked. All day long.

b/c they wwere getting occulus? so take it out of the random rotation
let ppl blacklist

again there are ways around all of these things instead of creating all these new ways to punish ppl that weren’t intended.

100% agree - this change needs to go. No debuff for the kicked

Call me crazy but the debuff should be removed entirely. The real problem is Blizz putting trinkets on early bosses. Why is it players have to deal with a punishment for a Blizz design choice that then required a “fix”?

Move trinkets to final bosses, 90% of the reason people leave is now gone. Queued content gets backfilled automatically. Who cares if someone leaves?

you cannot force people to run places that are unpopular. you can never ever ever force to run oculus on any difficulty at any time or expansion

if the punishment is stiff enough, they will either queue in a way that they cant get it, or they will run it.

You just have to make it REALLY sting if they refuse.

heres the thing i would jump on another tank alt and keep running 5 mans if i had the reason. deserter meant nothing. by the time i did 2 runs i swapped toons

i mean why is this the hill you keep trying to die on?
People leave for reasons
address the reasons instead of taking the easy way out and just punishing people.

Dont put OP trinkets on first bosses or hell, just move all loot to the end in q’d content.
Allow people to blacklist up to 2 dungeons they dont want to do so they dont leave to begin with.

Problem literally solved. You dont piss off a bunch of people in the process too.

yes. inconsideration for others, disrespect for fellow gamers, being the top two.

They can be fixed only by stick, never by carrot.

Then you’d just be whining that you got kicked before the last boss and got no loot.

Then you’d literally never be able to find a group for the less popular dungeons.

It’s not “inconsiderate” of players to ask the devs to NOT creat the potential for frustrating situations to begin with.

If anything, it’s inconsiderate of the devs to not carefully consider certain design situations that can lead to these issues.

While it isn’t the other 4 people’s “fault” that I hated Occulus, I should also not be REQUIRED to play it or face being locked out of what I was trying to do for half an hour because OMG how dare I hate a dungeon.

  • Allow Dungeon blacklisting when queuing for randoms
  • Balance trinkets during a season or simply dont put them on the first boss.

i mean
wouldnt this just be more incentive to NOT create stupid dungeons then?
Stop excusing poor design decisions. Or, hell, if you want to do something a lot of players dont want to do
isn’t this what guilds are for?

I have NEVER created a whining thread about being kicked. I simply dont agree that people kicked from dungeons deserve a debuff when I regularly see people abusing the vote to kick system while leveling alts.

you aren’t. you queued ‘random’. you chose to play all the dungeons.

I already answered that, not sure how much more clear I can make it.
You already can blacklist BG’s that are “random”
nothing wrong with letting people do it for dungeons
esp. when there is more of them and there is always at least ONE per season that people hate.
