you can queue specific and click every dungeon except oculus.
except, then you miss out on whatever âcarrotâ they were tossing tanks for queuing for randoms. Usulaly it was that little bag or the extra XPâŚetc. etc.
There really isnât anything youâre going to be able to say to change my mind. They already opened the can when they let you do it with BGs. For that reason, i wont really ever agree that it isnât appropriate for dungeons.
youâre allowed to be wrong.
Pretty sure thatâs not been a thing for several expansions now. You can queue for specific BGs or random, same as dungeons. You canât queue for ârandom but not Silvershardâ
âAllow people to blacklist up to 2 dungeons they dont want to do so they dont leave to begin with.â
+1
Exactly. The reason this carrot exists is so that people can get dungeons completed. What if someone needs loot or a quest in Oculus? Thatâs why dungeon finder is there. By opting out, you are no longer helping to make that happen. So you donât get the carrot.
You can already do this (not in timewalking but in regular dungeons). You just donât get the XP bonus if you do.
Thereâs really no reason for the Ara-kara deserter change to be extended to timewalking queues. Surely they have the capability to only apply that logic to current expansion dungeon queues.
I leveled an alt over the weekend, had 3 people leave the group in a timewalking dungeon and when it took too long the fill I left as well and got a 30 minute deserter buff even though the group was pretty much disbanded.
They definitely need to work on the mechanics for the debuff lol. Itâs not perfect for sure. (Just did something else for 30 minutes though really not the end of the world but doesnât feel good for sure)
The game dcâd me and could not get back on line until I logged into my whole account! I was just online! Then when I finally come back in I have the derserter debuff. WTH?
How long should random strangers have to wait for you to log on again?
mehâŚthis is just one of those topics where the wow apologists come out in full force.
so youâre not going to really convince these types of people who insist things be difficult just to keep them difficult.
Blacklisting should be a thing. If people really hate a dungeon that means you (designers) failed to design something that appeals to most people b/c you were too busy letting your ego get in the way.
Ppl whining and crying about Ara Kara is what did this and that debuff still didnt keep people from continually leaving that place when the trinket didnt drop.
Instead it created 15 new problems with it hitting people it shouldnât have.
The thing is this system doesnât exist âjust to be difficultâ. It exists because the solutions you are proposing have already been tried and failed.
If you remove the deserter debuff for being kicked, people will just force you to kick them so they avoid the debuff. That is simply learned experience.
if they wnat to be kicked it means the dugeon sucksâif mult. people do this, it REALLY means the dungeon sucks.
Blizz shoudl be using that to learn how to design better dungeons and/or to either change it or simply remove it from the rotation.
thereâs no reason to make 1 dugeon take 2 minutes to clear and another one take an hour.
againâŚyou and your ilk are still excusing the real problem and instead tryign to make everyone else play around it.
A lot of dungeons suck. Or maybe he just doesnât need any loot from this dungeon. Or maybe he just wants to do the shortest dungeon each time, but still wants the XP bonus for doing a random dungeon.
againâŚyou and your ilk are still excusing the real problem
Iâm not excusing anything. Iâm just telling you that your suggestion has already been tried and it failed.
I feel like the occulus was the only dungeon Iâd regularly refuse to do.
I canât recall another one that would make me just drop group immediately if I got it.
During leveling, i think you would really WANT to do the dungeons that are longer b/c they give more XP.
Occulus was a special kind of hell b/c the last boss was gimmicky AF, didnt scale with your gear until too late into the expansion and it only took one person failing the drakes to wipe the group.
Arcway. Shrine Of The Storm. Halls Of Stone. Blackrock Caverns. Plenty of examples.
Arcway was fun. Maybe Iâm just weird?
Shrine of the Storm? Yah that was pretty bad as a key but as a normal and heroic it was fine.
Halls of Stone? No. Halls of Lightning? yes b/c most tanks got tired of melee dps dying to the trash in the last room or butt-pulling the two wandering vrykul again and agiain and again. That place could have been fixed with better respawn points for when people died and/or less pats.
Blackrock Caverns? I know dps often left on that one but I never did. I enjoyed it LOL
again I just must be weird:)
Occulus flat out sucked.
In this season? I think the only real stand out poopy dungeon is Siege but even that I had to do over and over again to get my portal so now itâs not so bad.
Halls of Stone was awful because the entire dungeon was an RP that you couldnt skip. Like violet hold except you waited longer and 2 mobs spawned each time.
butâŚbutâŚInquring minds JUST GOTTA KNOW!!
