This isn’t based off classic World of Warcraft?
Am I launching the game under a tab called Classic World of Warcraft?
OHH I get it. It’s NOT supposed to be like classic. It’s just labeled classic. This is supposed to be a new, not like classic experience. I got you.
On a serious note, of course I understand that they are bringing changes with this season. I would sure hope that the framework for what classic wow is would remain true and stay the same. P1 and even P2 did a great job with this.
The level 1-25 bracket works.
25-40 simply does not work as well. Itemization has massive gaps. Questing starts to have gaps. STV is off limits killing a huge portion of the leveling experience.
You can’t treat phase 2 like phase 1.
If phase 2 didn’t have blood moon, trail mix / sleeping bag, BFD gear and XP, and so forth, it would have been a disaster.
Incursions in phase 3 are the next step on that, allowing players to level from 25 past all of the broken and incomplete leveling experiences to get to the point where they can engage in the newer actually fun content like blood moon, rune collection, and level up raids.
I don’t think that’s a classic vs. retail thing. There’s plenty of classic andies who like a challenge, and plenty of retail refugees who want bosses to fall over and explode with purples.
I can only speak for myself, but classic was great because there was always something you could do between raids, at least until late endgame. Raid mechanics themselves were a separate issue.
MC/BWL phase you were often still dungeon farming, or helping a guildie farm something like HoJ, Savage Gladiator Chain, etc. People were farming gold and ore so they could make their lionhearts, farming orbs, etc.
AQ meant people were farming up NR gear, farming MC/BWL to finish gearing/get a binding. War effort shenanigans, grinding out their earthstrike, abyssal farming, etc.
ZG was easy but necessary for enchants and fish boss trinket for tanks.
And so on. I didn’t care much for the 1-50 leveling, but there was always something worthwhile to do after that. Even after having naxx on farm it was still fun to go in and smash something like strath for stuff like holy water.
I think I had my most fun on weeknights when we weren’t raiding lol. Yeah, the raids were easy, but that’s why everyone was speedrunning which introduced its own measure of challenge.
If it got players who can’t be bothered to level to quit, the game would be better off. Those same players are all but gone now as is.
Maybe true but I strongly disagree with the solution implemented. Let’s force everyone into a small section of the map and allow them to grind and do the exact same simple, stupid shareable quests for 10+ levels? Let’s offer a faster, more lucrative option to questing and delete the classic leveling experience?
I also disagree because everyone knew the expectation and what they’re getting themselves into. This game is 20 years old. There are so many guides out there and content to help (RIP Joana).
No we didn’t. This is Classic+. An expected part of the plus is making leveling not less awful.
One of the biggest asks for Classic+ has been new leveling zones integrated into the game. Incursions are not the implementation of new leveling zones I expected them to be of course but I absolutely expected to receive new questing experiences at some point.
Classic + to me meant I was getting the classic experience I know and love but with more tender loving care haha.
The new runes and abilities, finishing out content, additional class balancing, improving the world leveling experience, this is what I personally expected.
Yes, I expected changes, but it still meant keeping the framework of the CLASSIC game.
I didn’t expect a retail style blitz where nothing matters but your alts and end game raid logging.
I fully understand that end game content and playing together at max level is where a lot would say the game begins. But the classic community expectation, at least for me… was different.
Oh well. I mean to me SoD is probably the best WoW product I’ve played since the original Burning Crusade. It would be nice if you could like it too but I’m not going to say I’d want it to change to accommodate you.
I love wow and I’m playing it. Incursions are dumb and this phase has not been my favorite. I’m hoping for a brighter future is all.
All I see from you is complaining. Stop, and get something else better to do with your time.
Well said op
Lots to complain about.
Use the ignore feature.
The go play your classic andy game and leas SoD as SoD. You aren’t going to do that because you want the excuse. Just like a family of five I know for sure 1) you’re full of it or 2) you don’t spend time with your family.
sod is unfortunately the only progressive Vanilla server, which is the only reason it was touched to begin with.
You are jealous.
Then stop crying like your “wife” does in bed knowing she married you.
hey, time to eat a snickers guy lol
What’s your name mean, loner?
There was nothing stopping people from leveling in the open world if they wanted to. Personally I did a mix of questing dungeons and incursions, if you chose not to that’s on you.
I also don’t see how incursions are any worse than people who grind dungeons to level which is also better exp than questing.
Well there’s your problem, SoD isn’t a progressive vanilla server.
