Just FYI, I found out about a little trick the top players are doing. We know they boost, sell carries, or even coach for money.
But they also boost an account to Glad, then sell it. This seems to be very popular lately. These account sell for a good amount (300-400 usd).
They buy the account, boost it with a couple friends (all of them are glads), then sell it.
This is diminishing the game and the achievement. I looked on a specific website (wont be naming it), and noticed hundreds upon hundreds of these accounts have been sold since 2022. Even more beforeâŚ
Why try and call out folks like this is a mass epidemic or something?
The majority of glads are in fact legit. Sure thereâs some boostees or purchasers but if you look and they have either multiple glads, consistent back to back glads, or at least even the glads they donât have instead are of elite ratings or something you can easily tell. If you care that much to decipher this anyway.
Just kind of comes across like envy or another version or cope where the whole thing is diminished because âwell I donât care if I donât have it because the ones that do just bought it anywayâ kind of thing. There arenât like 10 people running the entire glad community. If you didnât insinuate this, sorry for the bad take but it was just my impression.
I was unaware (by the looks of it) thousands of accounts have been bought and sold with Glad titles. So your comment on âThe majority of glads are in fact legitâ seems off. I have no doubt there are great players - but to find out so many are fake - it makes a difference.
I have never been envious of players that play well. They put the time and effort in - I love the game, but I deal with criticism poorly so I could never stick with a team long. I am happy with duelist. Seems about my solo limit.
Yes, I did google the website. But, I was told about it by a IRL friend who is a multi glad player.
He just started working with our group, we got to know each other and he was telling me about making money with wow throughout the years. I knew about some of them, but this was a surprise to me - I guess I am under a rock over here.
Yeah whenever you get gladiator asbur whispers you and invites you to a discord server where youâre contractually obligated to q at 1500 and gatekeep rival for the rest of the season
When you fight a very good boomkin(so far always on thrall for some reason) playing with an rdruid named thegodfather on storm rage, with a random dps in tow thatâs never been as high as you just saw them, itâs the same moonkin booster thatâs widely considered to be asbur(couldnât tell you why, kind of a grapevine piece of information). He won a bunch of the first era of gcd tournaments in wod
I was wondering the same and googling âAsbur wowâ a few links down was a âplaying with the prosâ boosting link with his name as the selling point.
This has been a thing since BC. The vast majority of these achievements are easy to identify. Many of these accounts will have âstepped into arenaâ and glad achievements within a very short time span. I have seen some within 2-3 days of each other. Beyond that though, lots of the players who buy them donât even PvP and just want the mounts.
Wait until you hear about people buying gear from raids.
