The current state of H-WrA

Excuse me this was MoP stuff don’t disrespect my favourite expansion by calling it cataclysm. Rude. :stuck_out_tongue:

WTB this so bad though.

To be fair though, like all our zones… they sorta exist within their own time bubble unless updated for a certain expansion. Ashenvale looks as it did in the timeline of Cata, just like Arthas is still galavanting across Northrend and Kael’thas yells at you semi-regularly in Shattrath city. I wouldn’t expect them to fix all of it, it’d be waaaay too much work to keep it current. But something as simple as a barrens bridge for accessibility would be nice.

I think the whole Chromie thing for shadowlands leveling gives us the perfect opportunity for a bit of clean up.

Cataclysm and MoP were so long ago I just jumble them up all together. So stands my desire.

Since they’re generalizing the leveling experience for all new players to complete the previous expansion instead of 1-110 through all past expansions, they have an opportunity to change things up. Maybe there could be a ‘current’ Azeroth and all the expansion content is accessed by the Timewalkers.

it would take a lot of resources to keep things up to date with the ‘current’ world of Azeroth. Expansion after expansion. Maybe it’s just a world of NPCs and flavor with outliner quests you can complete.

Please…completr

Still salty that the Legion invading Azeroth was just them invading the Broken isles. Would have been a really cool time to update the world and bring NPCs to life as well as make the leveling experience more lively.

Wasn’t there a few places they invaded? I didn’t play during that time but the starting quests are in front of Orgrimmar for the horde. I mean it was nothing in retrospect, but it was something.

Just during the pre-launch event :frowning:

It was implied that the legion invaded more than just the isles. The Highlands was one of the places that was overrun fully.

Scary legion can’t even find their way out of the broken isles.

Eredar are still Man’ari/Draenei. We’re just awful navigators.

This was my greatest disappointment of Legion honestly.

We were told in the Blizzcon hype session that this was to be the biggest Legion invasion EVER. In history. It sounded huge.

But really, aside from the early disruption of the pre-event, it appeared to functionally be a few scattered demons that somewhat disrupted the native societies of the Broken Isles, but like… on a level that was nowhere near as catastrophic as the Scourge had been in Warcraft 3.

Then we chased them back to their world and beat them up. By getting some order halls together and hanging with Velen.

I think the larger issue is that , the invasion was large scale. We just never saw it. It was only referenced here and there and barely if that. The Highlands, Barrens and so on were being attacked and thats where most of the Horde and Alliance’s attention was, in defending the lands.

To mock me with their awesome tabard and unique (and also awesome) shoulder armor.

Like how Blizz does by reusing both in almost every in-game cinematic that has an orc in it since MoP, despite those armor pieces only ever being associated with Garrosh’s Kor’kron.

Yet another reason to delete them from my Barrens.

Gosh, I know I’m late to this party but imagine an Orgrimmar with the same density as Suramar. The idea of a 3D city is so appealing, having collections of buildings at the top of the canyon, connected by bridges.

Then below you’ve got towers and bunkers built into the canyon walls with elevators to the upper levels of the city. All of it updated to echo the look of the Iron Horde’s buildings because they had a dang good aesthetic.

Then while we’re at it, I’d like to see the Siege of Orgrimmar Underhold brought into the world, with our faction leader(s) at the end room. Stormwind would get something similar too. A bigger keep.

Heck, I hope you don’t mind a tangent but I had this idea for sieges in WoW where if enemy players kill enough guards in a city, it starts a siege mode.

During a siege mode friendly players to the sieged capital are alerted it's under siege on the world map. More guard NPCs spawn for the defenders, but the attackers will also have soldiers spawn at the gates of the city and start attacking it.

Then it more or less turns into an impromptu battleground where defending players have portals to their leader’s keep (like the Underhold) in order to organize a defense as attackers press further inside. Include a weekly reward for killing the opposite faction’s leader and you have a recipe, in my opinion, for a cool world pvp system.

But uh. Yeah. Tangent aside, I’d kill for an Orgrimmar facelift and a Stormwind update. Over the years, Stormwind Alliance has had some cool assets designed for it, like the forts in Northrend, and I often fantasize about what it would look like with modern WoW art standards.

Just branch off the Deeprun Tram and you’re golden

God do I want a full Tram network engineered by Gnomes and Goblins across Azeroth. Though with Gazlowe probably going to lead the Goblins…don’t know who would take up the mantle of neutral city management.

You know that zepplin that goes from Thunderbluff to Org? I love riding that thing. Give us something like that across the whole continent with stops and I’d be in heaven.

Grimrail transcontinental railway on Kalimdor and a Deeprun Tram system going through Eastern Kingdoms. Make it happen!

…I really like the Iron Horde aesthetic.

Well if the Legion couldn’t force them out, either…
