The current state of H-WrA

I feel like most people already know what has been going on, but there’s just an absurd amount of people that either ruins an RP moment or just straight up abuses TRP to do so many stupid things, like, are people not mature enough to realize that we’re just nerds being nerds, and trying to enjoy the little we’ve got to put together a big show?

I mean correct me if I am wrong. But never in my life, I’d think to myself, that WrA has been filled with trolls, but it’s gotten to the point where I want to stand up and speak about this. This has gotten out of the hand, and ruins the fun that I am having.

The 15 dollar a month sounds like I’m wasting money just so I can get some Vulpera to do weird things to me. That is what I exactly feel like. Never in my life, I’ve RP’d, and felt like I was wanting to kill someone because they’re not being compliant.

Can we just go back to Garry’s Mod, and at least have someone with that power to literally say “fail RP” and call admin? Because if Blizzard actually cared about the people who are on any server, they should be easily able to pick this up and read, and tell themselves “wow, the RP community needs a lot of help”, and soon enough they can help yeah?

I’m just tired of so many horrible things that’s been going around within these people who don’t even RP. Maybe they do but some people just don’t understand where the clear and visible line is between everyone. Not everyone’s built to ERP, and even then, I only ERP with select people who I’ve enjoyed my time with, not some random hooker who’s job description matches their clothing style.

Sorry for the rant. It’s been hell of a week and there’s just too many trolls around the time being.

I’m not…quite picking up on the problem here? Like it seems you’ve got a grievance with people making bad TRPs but there’s…something about Vulpera and paying and…

Would you mind terribly clarifying?

If we get people dictating what is and is not fail RP, how will that be beneficial for everyone?

If someone is using TRP to post NSFW crap, or be a bully, use the tools provided by the addon author to block it, and then block them.

If they are being particularly egregious, report them to Blizzard.

Telling someone their RP is “fail” though only opens the door to make some kind of server lore fiasco, where you have to RP THIS way and even if you aren’t hurting anyone, you get blacklisted. Which is exactly what happened to Moon Guard.

Regardless of what people say about Blizzard’s responses, I’ve personally seen their responses to me, and to my friends, they do care about their playerbase, they are impartial, and yet they also have to put the overall health of the game over the RP group, considering we are such a small segment of the population, but they do listen. Don’t let it be disheartening if it seems like they might not, or people keep saying they don’t or that they hate everyone.

Haters gon’ hate, afterall.

I would. I’m specifically pointing out the trolls, and how populated it got recently.

I play a creative character when it comes to making a character with TRP for it. I am all for something that is unusual, but cool.

But that trance breaks when I’m with someone who’s literally a troll account, that comes up to disrupt entire RP session.

Sure, you can block them. But that’s not the thing. There’s been numerous times I’ve went out in Orgrimmar to see who’s there, and all I see is trolls everywhere.

Now, to mention, there are bad ones and the good ones.

The good ones usually have their TRPs somewhat funny and they don’t bother us. They have fun with their friends who also has a funny TRP. Like, a good player with a funny TRP (there’s a person in WrA called “kitten”, good PvP player, maybe good RPer? never got to see anything) but there are the bad ones from time to time, responding with whispers that literally confuses me.

So, to explain the bad trolls, they literally whisper me about my character. Sure, some troll people called my character actually cool, and I don’t judge them for their taste and they could’ve liked what I’ve built. But some people just straight up whisper things that are meme, and I mean this as something I generally dislike.

Matter of fact, memes are fine. I’ve seen funny TRPs, but they don’t actually bother while I am trying to RP with someone. I hate that. So f’in much. That’s like two people talking about their day and some random guy walks up to ruin it all by pooping on their shoe and calling it good.

And, don’t get the wrong idea, I, myself, didn’t know anything about proper RPing until I’ve received that guidance.

But those “bad trolls” I call, they’re just a next level of those who’ll actually make people quit RP because of this cause. I love and enjoy the company I get in WrA. Both Horde and Alliance. But people that exist, that makes this game so hard to bare are those who troll us. That’s why I’m stepping up to ask if there’s any harder reinforcements to get those people out of here.

I feel like you’re saying a lot, but not adding the context needed.

It sounds like you’re wanting to police folks RP?

Come to the Alliance, we need more RPers.

On this, I can understand some aspects of NSFW because what if someone created a character that’s like practically a hooker? (Not gonna lie, I have done that before.)

Telling someone their RP is “fail” though only opens the door to make some kind of server lore fiasco, where you have to RP THIS way and even if you aren’t hurting anyone, you get blacklisted.

I don’t generally mean it to confuse as well but if you have someone that literally comes up to flirt with you, pull their bulgy wulgy out, and want to have a sexual relationship, in a middle of a normal conversation, what am I supposed to do? Block and move on? When literally, that’s all I’ve been getting lately?

I mean, yes, I report and move on. That’s your only option. Could also move to a different spot where you are guaranteed to not have interruptions.

It sounds like you don’t enjoy walkup RP, which is far from a rare opinion. I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing strange and even immersion-breaking stuff, but if I’m not in the mood for it I try to avoid hubs. There’s not much else one can do aside from depriving bad faith actors of the reaction they crave.

I believe s/he/they are commenting on the state of Orgrimmar, not the state of Horde roleplay. There are many things to be said about the Valley of Honor in it’s prime time. I have turned to avoiding it altogether. I used to complain about it all the time, but nothing will change - it’s a really settled-in thing for WrA. Mulgore Mondays is about as much city roleplay as I enjoy. That’s my 10 cents.

P.S. you might want to remove mentions of any names (IC or OOC) of folks in your post. That is against the forum rules. @Quinnzi

It sounds like you are having folks walk up to you and slapping you with their hotdog or their hoohas. ERP is not supposed to be broadcasted via /me or /s. If memory servers, that is reportable. If you have someone walk up to you and ask if they’ve seen some scantly dressed man, that’s not really reportable.

TRP profiles are also not supposed to be overly sexual and you can indeed report those profiles.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Vulpera. I have seen some hilarious RP profiles and wholesome, funny and engaging RP with the little fox heroes as they find their place in the Horde. I love those little dudes they are awesome. The creeps sexualizing them and using orgrimar as their personal fetish club I feel the opposite towards. They are just gross people.

This might be about the amount of off-realmers transferring to WrA and them picking up TRP/MRP and using it to harass roleplayers. Though I could be wrong.

THIS. THANK YOU. Thank you for saying such because I was getting to the point where people mistook ideas.

Like. We, as people who roleplay here, in World of Warcraft RP servers, we know much better not to. And that’s what I hate with the troll people is that they are just reckless when it comes to abusing RP servers as an excuse to have a little wank.

It’s not really shocking that folks are doing this during the expansion lull. It’ll probably get better in SLs.

Ok so I think Illbleed is correct and now I totally get what you’re talking about.

Expansion hiatus’ generally bring out these folks because of boredom. Reporting them is really the most you can do though as well as RPing in a not common hub spot.

I am not surprised. Rule 34 exists for a reason, it is just gross though and the fun Vulpera don’t deserve to be lump in with those gross neckbeards. I don’t really RP on mine because of it. I made mine look like my Pomsky Fenris out of tribute to my baby boy. I don’t want someone weirdo trying to yiff or sexualize the WoW version of my family’s beloved companion.

This clarifies a lot. Yeah, that is super not okay of them and you have every right to be irritated about that.

They’re going through the same thing Pandaren went through, it’ll get better :yellow_heart:

I think the dynamics of servers have shifted in BfA. Horde WRA’s population has boomed. With that population comes the trolls, who want to make as many people unhappy as possible.

It’s definitely grown, and is becoming an increasing problem. Likely with the expansion lull, as others have said. I really don’t know what to do, reporting doesn’t seem to stem the tide at all.
