The current state of H-WrA

Honestly org isnt even that…convenient

Outside of like…everyone sitting inside the valley of honor. At least SW has a handful of areas with varying themes in one city and the population spread across the various bars.

Org needs to be redone sooo bad

True, the most Org has is the Troll area, but even then it doesn’t feel like a whole district where folks could congregate.

There was the old Goblin section, but that was gross and doesn’t exist anymore lol.

And that’s perfectly fine. The people who have multi-para in their TRPs would rather you avoid them if that’s the case so they can find people with like mindedness.

Nah, its just a bunch of rope bridges and some huts. Which isnt bad, ive done some rp there, but its something i preplanned with my guild and not walkup. Since theres no one to walk up to

Orgrimmar is only propped up by momentum and the portal rooms. I could ragepost a huge diatribe about Orgrimmar as a dysfunctional space for RP, but I won’t make anyone suffer my mad ravings. (Blizz could at least add a Level 3 Tavern from the Garrison somewhere in Org as a bandaid solution.)

Warspear is a better Orgrimmar if people still wanted the experience of RPing in a generic Horde/orcish aesthetics area, especially since the open-world Ashran zone is unphased, empty of NPCs, and does not flag for pvp.

Please rage post away.

This thread is now about how bad org is and how much blizzard hates the horde and has an alliance bias

I wouldn’t say there is a bias, but maybe more of a bias in creative simplicity. I mean, SW really is just a human city. It’s hard to mess that up lol. Org is a fantasy culture that requires more creative thinking (in comparison to humans) built within a chasm. Sometimes it feels like they don’t know what to do with it other than throwing a bunch of spikes around the buildings. Frankly, Orcs lack a bit of creativity for being a shamanistic race. You’d think there would be more creative touches with their respect to ancestors/elements or requesting aid from the Tauren to make it less barren.

They ever give Org grass/actual greenery I will faction change.

It’s a shame Thunderbluff isn’t more popular, but it is weird that after 15+ years of being in that Chasm and boarding Ashenvale + befriending the Tauren that it’s still desolate. I kind of have a faint memory of Thrall saying that this is what the Orcs deserve or maybe it was that only the Orcs could survive in a place as challenging as this…or something along those lines, but WC3 was a long time ago.

Also, Orcs (shaman) do partner with nature and can cause growth, so not too sure if the elements are against the idea of making Durotar more green or not.

I’ve been seeing more RP happening in the Tauren area of Org, it’s more peaceful than VoH.

The whole bias thing was more facetious and poking fun at people saying blizzard has a horde bias everytime something happens they dont like

Honestly, my issues with org are less aesthetics and more layout

SW has human aesthetics, yes, but the streets and areas are laid out in a decent way with at least a tavern in every district, some tucked away some public. Additional open buildings and large open gatherings.

Org is basically one or two big open areas connected by tiny bypasses and the taverns are all lumped together forcing everyone to huddle in one spot

Wait, did they? The Night Elves have Darkshore but I’ve heard/read nothing about the Forsaken returning to Lordaeron, other than the towns that were never impacted by the war at least. My understanding is that all we know for sure is that the Alliance won both Warfronts. The Forsaken as a people still appear to be largely refugees.

That was my impression? It was one of those handwaves “oh yeah, the Forsaken took it back” that’s supposed to be what happened but didn’t actually for gameplay.

I’ve found no sources on it but I’d be interested to if there are any - my whole guild revolves around trying to re-establish some sort of presence in Lordaeron, which is now pretty isolated without the Undercity. Really the Forsaken only still have the Sepulcher, Tarren Mill and Andorhal, and that’s only because they weren’t impacted in the war. But… I’m not aware of any mass-return or anything. The bulk of the Forsaken appear to be still in Orgrimmar.

I agree, but to me, that comes with the human ‘organization’ kind of theme they have.

In Org, it’s poorly layout because they shaped it to respect the chasm (I’m guessing?). There is a lot of space they could utilize much better, but Org being shaped by the chasm is pretty neat imo. If they used the upper portion of the area or built within the walls of the chasm, that would be pretty cool and still thematically faithful to Orcs.

Though this is me assuming that Thrall had it laid out this way to respect the elements in some way. :woman_shrugging:

Re the cities… Honestly the more I think about it the more I’d be really happy with an update of the capitals. We’ve got too many races to ever really have cities for, now. It’d be cool if Stormwind and Orgrimmar got a smattering of different architecture to represent to diversity of cultures that now exist within the multicultural hub. The surrounding towns and so forth could still feasibly be 100% human and orc respectively but the cities should start to become a bit more diverse. It’d be neat.

(And I want to see the void elf version of Silvermoon spires so bad)

How about clean up the cataclysm stuff while we’re at it. Why are there korkron still hanging around the Barrens, no bridge on the border of northern/southern Barrens, Ashenvale is still a hot mess with orc lumber operations, Grimtotem up and down middle Kalimdor doing nothing. The list is long. The world is just kinda full of forgotten NPCs and old storylines that seem random and irrelevant.

There’s not too many places you can just go to and have a blank canvas for RP, and it kinda stinks. I will die on this hill.

Waiting to see if the Botani hit up the Southern Barrens.
