The current state of H-WrA

No one values the Alliance.

I find this thread very interesting. Because I’ve actually been sort of not enjoying role play too much in the Valley of Honor because its gotten very annoying and I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed.
From my end, what I see, I see a lot of people constantly being inappropriate, running around. Saying outlandish things that mix in real world issues or politics where it makes no sense for a funny haha and then run off.

One of the worst features (which im sure people will disagree on but this is just my feelings) is the PvP function enabled by the taverns. This has caused a lot of people who just want to disrupt and fight zip around the main rp hub , yell for duels and everyone speaking openly OOC at huge volumes near areas that people like to go to RP toward. I honestly feel that all that PvPing should go back to the gates and also make it to where bodies disappear idk. Five minutes after they released the spirit.

I’ve also seen an increase in inappropriate uses of /yelling, harassment. Swearing. IRL stuff that people should probably either keep private or shouldn’t argue about. Stuff that could be taken to whisper.

And sadly, you can’t just leave Orgrimmar, because that is one of the biggest places for Horde RP. But its bad enough, that now people are becoming more and more unbearable, there is an effort to RP OTHER places and reinvigorate old areas.

But absoutely, people being inappropriate is…no. 100% a report, and if their TRP is bad as well I thinkthere is a the blizzard report button on it which I would do first.

There are more people on this game, like children. Many children just trying to play with their older siblings or parents and that is actually something we all need to remember …never know who that other person is.

I really wish the horde had a goldshire to act like one of those roach motels like it does for the alliance

someone probably already mentioned it in the 30-odd posts I haven’t sifted through yet, but … Scan the WrA forum for event threads. There are a lot of good events that are non-aligned, so don’t limit yourself to H-only things. As several have suggested, get a couple of people you feel comfortable with, join communities or discords they belong to. It’s not that hard to keep an eye on things you might be interested in.

The days of a “hub” being defined as the best place to sit in front of a building waiting for something to happen are over. These days the genuine RP hubs are not locations, they’re recurring events & open groups of people who do things together beyond the limits of guild-only events.

Well… What did you have in mind? ::grins::

What could have been.

A longing whisper.

You joke but I remember a better time, a vanilla time, full of strapping young bulls and frisky… whatever you call a female tauren. Udder-esses.

That’s why we attacked Taurajo. With their spawning pool destroyed the Horde commander would have a harder time fielding lower tier tauren troops for a bull rush.

I don’t know what’s worse, wanting to heap scorn on you for this or wanting to suggest that they instead be called “Pe-teats.”

Those were bad and you should both feel bad.

There was one, Wayfarers’ Rest in SMC. I saw… so, so much go on there. It stopped being the trolling cesspool when WoD hit.

This. So much this. The game is 12+ and it’s so important to be considerate that other people you interact with could be children or teenagers. I find that this issue isn’t necessarily isolated to Horde on WRA, or even WRA and RP communities in general. Players being inappropriate (posting Mature content) without really thinking is a wide spread issue.

As far as the topic itself, I don’t know enough about the state of Horde-side roleplay because I lack experience with it. But I will say that I have encountered many Horde roleplayers, some of whom have posted in this thread, who are phenomenal folks and roleplayers and each of them paint a picture of a very fun, immersive and inclusive RP community for H-WRA.

Just wanted to note, as someone who does play this game with their six year old, that any parents playing the game with their kids can hop in and disable all channels. If you customize the window you can even turn off /s, /y, etc.

I believe that certain parental controls can be applied to accounts, including monitoring of /whispers and the exclusion of real ID or Bnet whispers.

It also includes game time monitoring/tracking, so you can see how many hours are played each week. I find game time monitoring particularly useful even for the average player.
