The current state of H-WrA

You’re welcome to find it humorous.

I hope I am also welcome to find it humorous, otherwise I have grossly overstepped.

You’re not allowed to overstep, to the gulag with you.

Vulpera clearly did attract new blood to the server, and a lot of it are acting like what is usually on Moonguard.

Problem overall is Horde RP is there, but it’s not as huge as for public Roleplay goes. But in the end of the day, people play what they desire to play. It’s not to anyone to judge what other do or not.

There is simply, like or not, and move on. The player base is an aging population, it’s meant to change eventually and can’t remain what it was once, forever.

I am not bothered by any of it, acting like a holy purist is pretty much wrong in first place, we all do sins, just some are against our list of likes.

I don’t tell anyone what to do or how to RP. I am not the police. But I am also not going to lie and say that being a creepy weirdo is acceptable to me or that I don’t think being a goofy animal fetishist is not gross. If thinking that it is gross makes me a holy purist then I suppose I might be the first dude that likes church burning devil music that is also a holy purist.

Same thing happens Alliance side as well.
At the end of the day, there is no difference between a RP server and a normal server. WoW has kind of become something of a sandbox game when it comes to any kind of RP rule enforcement.

I don’t like it either. But live and let live.

I attempted to RP in org yesterday and it just seemed like most people were OOC, just standing around. I wouldn’t say they were trolls, exactly. Just OOC.

As a MG Horde person finally switching to WrA Horde at some point in the near future, I would give one bit of caution based on experience about being too dismissive of walk-up RP in the Valley of Honor or SMC or whatever: that sort of stuff let’s people know your server is alive and active.

Most people’s first instinct isn’t to join discords or hop on the realm forums, it’s to just log in the game and see what’s going on. Even if the RP is questionable, at least its there and bustling, which might make the only first impression that matters in making a decision.

Cuz some of the most common questions about MG Horde are essentially, “What’s the public RP scene like? Where is everyone is everyone?” And most folks don’t want to hear they have to work for it.

Honestly, I don’t think the problem inherently is the profiles we see, but what people do with them and how they interact with those around us. It is very tame in Silvermoon City compared to Orgrimmar. I can’t log in, afk, or step foot into the Valley of Wyvern’s Tail because I get horrendous thirst messages nonstop on this character. It’s almost to the point I have to make a joke profile to get them to leave me alone. I know you’ll say “then don’t RP in Orgrimmar” and alienate half, if not more the active walk-up population? Because let me tell ya’, most of SMC just afks in the Exchange and are usually PvPers just waiting on their queues. Even had someone make TWO Discord p rofiles to pretend to be a different person with the shpiel of “ERP isn’t my goal” and I was like heck, I like cross-faction I’ll give it a shot. And sure enough, his characters were playing good man/bad man and was confused when I didn’t want to RP with him anymore. Let alone he panicked when I figured out it was the same person on both Discord accounts. It was sus as is that he didn’t want to tell me his main because he “didn’t have one” and was just scoping out the server, but hahahah silly me, I’m suppose to not expect this right?

This needs to stop, WRA. Wyvern’s Tail became the new Wayfarers’ Rest, but it doesn’t have to be.

Gosh, I have not played in a while, I had no idea Horde-side had a thirst issue. Is this more of an annoyance or is there actual harassment going on?

I stopped completely on this character. And I hear tales all the time how my friend’s goblin keeps getting hit up for ERP the moment they log in. Even when I played a Pandaren, I had to race change her to get away from the thirst messages. I don’t understand. It can’t be the same person every time on different characters. It is so rampant, I can’t step foot in Orgrimmar at all unless I absolutely have to.

I moved on to MG Alliance and while I still receive thirst messages, it’s not as rampant. I don’t understand why people feel the need to do this. I have nothing lewd nor NSFW in any of my profiles. It’s a description with pretty colors and a link to SFW artwork of them fully clothed and not in any suggestive manner.

Even made a mistake of setting the chaste/lust meter to 11 toward Lust and I got someone doing literal math to figure out the percentage and ask how to get it further. I am so confused by this logic on WRA. Help me.

I feel like maybe people are taking the “savage, uncivilized” aspect of the Horde too far? Maybe??

It reminds me of people telling stories about how they’d see troll guys pooping in the street or fighting each other for control of a harem or whatever. Like, just this bizarrely over-the-top, sheltered church kid view of The Other People but they’re the ones RPing it.

Come to Alliance, we are loving and caring. WRA Alliance values each player greatly.

Oooh. I remember that one time I got random whispered by a guy wanting to be my “foot servant.” I responded with something like… “Oh yes indeed. I always wanted to lead my own secret clan of ninja thieves.”
