Has the game gotten to the point now where even crafters are going to be at a huge disadvantage for not running addons?
Really?
Allowing this degenerate addon is absolutely awful. Break it please.

It became really obvious that an addon was in heavy use a couple weeks into TWW when crafters got their stuff leveled up.
You post “LF Crafter [item]” in any populated server and you get back 4 whispers instantaneously all saying “I can craft [item]”, essentially no lag time at all.
Agreed that it’s problematic.
But I also think the fix should just be making public orders relevant. There’s 0 need for a private order system at all. Just let people assign a minimum quality in public orders.
Sure, keep Guild and Private orders available in case you want to specifically help someone get more skill points or whatever or not have to set a high commission maybe. But the current system of having to spam chat to get anything relevant crafted because Public Orders are intentionally gimped is idiotic.
Fair point. In the interim though this addon should burn to a crisp.
i like being able to send orders to my friends rather than some random so no i say keep the private orders but i do agree that there is no reason not to have a minimum quality for public orders
Public orders are very much caveat emptor but I do agree that the community has pretty much made them entirely undesirable by throwing back 1-star gear on orders that had 3-star mats, 20k commission and a friendly note.
that explains how i got 6 instant replies last time i asked for a crafter. i kinda liked it tho
I agree with your point though the math is wrong since the breakline to R2 is only 20% of required skill and R3 mats provide 40%.
On the flip side though, while the orders would rot in this scenario since they are mathematically impossible, it is also pretty frustrating when someone throws up an order with R1 mats, a 200g commission, and then sends you a nasty gram about why you did not craft it at R5.
In so many, many situations requestors do not understand the crafting system, or they try to take advantage of crafters starving for work orders that they undervalue them massively. Understandable, but it feeds into the cycle of animosity.
The only advantage I see of allowing minimum rank requirement for Public orders would be most of the crap would rot because of unsuitable materials selection or from crafters not deep specialized only able to fulfill one R5 order every other day. But I would also expect commissions and costs to skyrocket even more than they already have as crafters would hold out for that one craft with a windfall commission to burn their Concentration, and requestors would get more and more desperate for a crafter that can do R5 so jack up their offers. Yes, it would fall off as KP is earned across the board, but initially it would be pretty brutal.
ive never once seen a public craft listed despite leveling toons with every profession to 80 at this point.
That’s so cringe lmao
They’re there, depending on server pop.
Break all addons cept for RP ones.
I figured people were using something - I reply right away and someone always beats me to it.
Just let people assign a minimum quality in public orders.
I’d vote for this. Would make things a lot smoother for placing orders.
I’ve only ever been whispered by CraftScan one time and I chose someone else.

Love it.
Was there anything in the message that indicated it was an addon? Or just a hyper-fast response to your crafting request?
Instant reply with a formulaic message.
but i do agree that there is no reason not to have a minimum quality for public orders
There are few reasons - crafting charges is one, dead /trade is second, personal orders would die is third . Too much convenience isnt good at all.
The add-on is problematic but I don’t think breaking it is the correct response. They will find a work around. What should happen is in the whisper and indication that it’s the add-on auto messaging you.
Something forced on Blizzard’s end. Let the player have a choice.
Also can we all just admit the barrier to entry for some of the crafting is stupid? For instance inscription. The stupid amount of herbs you must mill just to level it up.

Thanks, I’m installing the addon.
They will find a work around.
Weak auras existed long before this addon.
