The Crafting Cartel is back and I hope they get banned for good

Someone tried charging me 40k for a crafted item yesterday lol

I just rolled the dice on the public orders with full mats and 2k tip and got it crafted at max rank and quality. I’m not paying these crazy people tens of thousands of gold for 1 item that isn’t even max level.

Pretty interesting situation, really. It does seem that whenever there is a niche that can be used to make profit, a group of people will do it. In games or RL. sad.

So what is this “cartel” going to do about someone willing to work for nothing?

False reporting has consequences.

They going to finance dozens of new disposable accounts every week just to use for false reports?

It would be cheaper and make more gold just to buy $20 tokens and sell those rather than waste the $50 on accounts that will be banned.

Seems like that would be a very expensive pass time for a video game. That could work out to hundreds or thousands of dollars per month.

This all sounds so fake lol

That in itself isn’t an issue… the way they take out the competition though, that’s underhanded and Blizzard should be using this behavior as a baseline for finding unsavory groups and removing them.

Old Blizzard would have nuked this right away.

Max has talked about this on his stream before.

The cartel has thousands of people in their discords to do this for them.

So , even if this is true, let’s assume it is for a moment.

The crafters on your server would rather get less gold for their work?

Instead of 10,000 gold they want to make 10g?

Who would be against making more?

Even a cartel is smart enough to set prices people can afford. If they didn’t they wouldn’t sell anything.

This whole story smells funny.

And it would cost tons of real money cash to pull off.

Who would burn that much real money to get video game gold?

Idk who that is.

The whole thing just sounds fake (like it’s unbelievable) I’m not saying it doesn’t happen

I’m curious to know how much weight there is to this myself, considering I’ve seen none of this despite being one of the (if not the) most prominent leatherworkers on my server.

That’s an interesting story

If I spend all my time doing drinks on my alchemist I can move over 15,000 units in a day.

I normally post 2,000-5,000 of each type then log off to go play my druid.

in about an hour or so I jump back on Gelyn and all of it has sold.

edit: I’ve never had “cartel” problems. Maybe I’m a small fish?

Which means no one actually works at Blizzard HQ building directly anymore. Everything being taken over by mindless AI they can’t tell the difference between legit bans and illegit bans. The AI just bans everyone who is reported.

“trust me, bro, this happened”

Because it is. lol

The “crafting cartel” lmao

It should be but people will exploit everything in this game. It’s actually crazy to see the lengths people go to in order to cheat at stupid stuff like crafting and even pet battles.

  1. Bots can’t mass report anyone.
  2. Squelches go out for chat reports and GMs look into them later to decide suspension or lift the squelch.
  3. Make sure everyone is actually appealing their sanctions.
  4. Check to make sure they aren’t using Guilded and not Discord this time.

  1. Actually they can. They can enter some codes in the bot program to mass report people.
  2. Since when? People been reporting the same person for decades and nothing happens.
  3. Appealings don’t work.
  4. Blizzard has no jurisdiction over Discord.

And then the bots get banned which negates their entire purpose.

Since the squelch system was enabled.

This is false.

Where did I say they did?
