Back in my day, when i wanted to fit multiple roles, i built multiple gear sets. Even during legion when tier sets changed with your talent specialization, i still needed off sets, and trinkets. Before legion, i needed weapons too, (and honestly the relics filled this need as well)
I want tier sets back, but not because i’m dumb enough to try and use the same piece of gear for 5 different roles.
I didn’t do that, i’ve done enough high level M+ over the past 3 months that i’ve built 2 different 415 sets.
You can lose 600 residuum or lose the gold for respecs. You’re making a choice. If you don’t want to lose either, raid mythic, and get another 415 set from there.
I am just pointing out, as I did in a thread pretty similar to this, not doing all the content and then complaining about gains is incredibly silly. Raiding below mythic at this point in the tier (even getting your freebie CoL) is incredibly pug friendly since most players know the fights and are at or over 400 IL.
It took me 9 months to get my Giantstalker shoulders from Molten Core. By then i’d already built a full tier 2 set but i still was ecstatic they finally dropped, as was the rest of my guild.
Who is looking down on you for role swapping? Why don’t you use the azerite gear you upgraded from for offspecs? You have 2 400 base ilvl and a 385 you’re using. What happened to your old azerite? If you scrapped it and you role swap often you screwed up. You don’t need to pay to respec your highest ilvl azerite gear every single time you role change, if you do that you’re expected to keep extra azerite gear. The point of the respect cost system is to incentivize you not to do what you’re trying to do. Do you touch a hot stove and complain about how it’s burning you while you keep sticking your hand on it? My only answer to you is…duh? In other news, water is wet!
There really should be a hard limit on how high it can get. You cannot possibly justify the ridiculous numbers this thing can reach.
I question the sanity of those who drop a mil on an armor swap, personally, but the fact they even can make that choice is a problem. Cut the crap, Blizz. Fix it.
The argument im trying to make is that these costs shouldnt be ridiciously expensive or there should be a limit as to the cost of how much it is.
I am rather suprised thst their are people defending theae ridiculous costs, i thought it would be the exact opposite. Like the person above me said, it should never reach the prices it reaches, and it just makes it that much harder for someone to switch roles.
This may not be a dps only class problem, but it is with classes with multiple roles.
No. It’s fine. I role swap regularly on my warrior and dh between tank and dps. When the cost is cheap I respec my best azerite. When it’s expensive I have 1 tier lower azerite I swap to as I’m waiting for the cost to drop down. Blizzard can’t childproof every aspect of gameplay for those who have zero self control. It’s more entertaining to watch them repeatedly hurt themselves and complain about it.
I don’t know about the rest of you but i for one am sick and tired of Blizzard taking choice AWAY from the player. If they’re dumb enough to dump 9,999,999 gold on a respec, then let them.
They can get that high because no one should ever reforge that often. We have people switch specs in raid all the time. They just have more azerite gear. Its not a hard concept. In order for the system to get to even 1,000 gold you have to respec 9 times in 1 day. Wait a day? Back down to 640. Another? 320.
Among every other choice they removed. Flying, master loot, the upcoming water strider. All choices they strip away from us, in favor of their own vision of how we SHOULD be playing.
