Nah, just stop being a tool and maybe you won’t have to worry as much about being reported for acting like a tool.

you mean like you are right now by calling people LIARS?

it makes me giggle hysterically how in one breath this forum is screaming how it needs more moderation over player behavior, then some oblivious sort comes along pretending as if those same obnoxious players arent doing crap like abusing the flag in here and the report and vote kick in game :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

I tab out of the chat box in game. The racism, bigoted crap, politics, religion, sexual harassment…just nauseating.
if one wants to talk like that, do it at home among friends that dont care.
Projecting that trash out into the world is juvenile.

I’d go so far as to say it’s worse than juvenile because of the harm it causes.

Agreed.
You cant get some of these clowns to comprende that REAL people end up self harming or committing suicide because of crap that is already going on in their lives added to the obnoxious callous base trash they end up dealing with online.
its real easy to act like that from behind the keyboard. None of them would have the bravery to treat people like they do face to face.

If one feels so threatened to even talk in open channels that they may be reported I would ask that person to look at what they typically say.

I find it hard to believe you cant say anything…yet the same people will complain how the open channels is constantly filled with bigotry, etc.

One contradicts the other.

I would agree.
I actually played less in SL than in Legion and I noticed a LOT more of that crap in SL than back in Legion.
And in Legion the hate wasnt as bad so I didnt tab out of chat. By the time SL I was tabbing over to combat first thing when I log in just to keep from seeing the spam and venom in chat.

I noticed a very drastic increase in all sort of negativity early BFA. Literally why I backed off running 5 mans all day long like I had loved in Legion.

I suspect a bunch of foulness might have rolled or moved to my realm or something and caused it.

Found jacksepticeye.

Not memeing here but retail WoW I actually find to be much more chill as a playerbase than people give it credit for.

Now when you get into high M+ or anything where one player can “waste” a group’s time yeah, you get more toxicity.

But WoW hasn’t been as toxic as MMORPG enthusiasts say it is for years.

My most toxic experiences have been in FFXIV endgame and classic WoW (are you guys okay?). Retail feels like it is filled with an aging playerbase that is kinda over the whole internet tough guy act. Mostly. Obviously every online space has its uhm…let’s say “characters”.

I AM MAGA DWARF! and i will brighten up everyone’s day with facts and logic

Update: Someone is speedrun any%'ing trade chat with multiple throwaway bnets on MG for lgbt hate.

And services chat has RMT URLs being spammed in it too back to back.

Pool’s closed, everybody out.

I try to start convos in instances but few people respond or just barely do.

And no one wants to hang out in front of banks and chat anymore.

My experience is that the playerbase is the same level of toxic as it has always been. A social contract that is barely enforced is just a bunch of words strung together. This game needs actual moderation, and it needs to make reporting possible in more scenarios.

It is frankly unacceptable that is not possible to report a player who has ignored you or is no longer in your party. I wonder how much gameplay sabotage and verbal abuse is enabled by simply not being able to report.

OMG how do I get those mounts?! :joy:

I find it interesting that so many people have problems. I guess this post worked. It managed to pull most of the people that have negative experiences.

Now that I have all your attention. Why do the majority of players have no issues? Why do I never have any problems with other players?

There are 2 sides to a story and if you’re having problems as often as I’m seeing in these comments, maybe it’s you that is causing the toxicity. Sometimes the answer is right in the mirror.

Where is your source for that?

Of course. It’s only natural that it be my fault that a frustrated player in a random Epic battleground told the entire team that we’re dumb garbage and should uninstall the game. I must have deserved it too when the M+ PUG leader unknowingly invited a stealth carry tank-DPS duo who thought it best to call everyone idiots despite not knowing the mechanics and then whisper us that we were actually being carried and we are jokes and failures, etc.

I spent 2 hours in a +14 stealth carry that accrued S E V E N T Y - E I G H T deaths, and I stayed because the people in there were likeable and I wanted them to get their chest and vault rewards because I hate it when people leave and ruin keys. Your assessment of others’ characters is totally uncalled for. There are toxic players in the game and they impact others’ enjoyment of the game regardless of how the abused players behave. I’d even wager that the nicer players are made fun of more.

Trust me, you have issues with other players. If you didn’t before, you will definitely have them when people wake up and read your post.
