The Catalyst

This is just silly… the dumb gear restrictions on what you can catalyze need to be changed.
Someone at Blizzard please explain to me why my 415 Ilvl Moonless Hood on the CHAMPION track (max ilvl 437) CANNOT be catalyzed??
This is silly…

If you managed to understand the S1 system, why are you having trouble with this one?

It’s due to the source of the gear, and not it’s item level.

Suffusion Gear
M+ Gear
Raid Gear
Conquest Gear

Like it was in season 1

I did not catalyze in Season 1, why assume that?
That does not change the fact at how utterly stupid this system is. It should be Ilvl track gated not source gated.

Also, tell my why that gear obtained from the CURRENT ZONE , Zaralek Caverns is not providing eligible gear from the weekly activities? AKA Researchers Under Fire.

It’s all in this thread:

And I’ll repeat what I said in there:

For future reference, the only gear from PvE content that can be catalyzed is the following:

  • gear from Aberrus LFR, Normal, Heroic, Mythic and that Great Vault row
  • gear from M+ and that Great Vault row
  • Suffused gear from Fyrakk assaults
  • Zaralek Caverns world boss gear
  • the Normal raid box from the Timewalking event
  • the Heroic raid box from the Mythic dungeon event

It’s always been source. Never ilevel. You aren’t getting tier from a world quest or story quest, sorry.

This does not tell me why blizzard chose to set it up this way, You are just telling me what can be catalyzed, which is good info, but it does not answer my question of why they decided to make current areas not provide eligible gear.

Because as I said above, it goes by source and not ilevel. It’s always been that way.

and its not a world quest or story quest, its a once a week activity. which should definitely be eligible.

My personal opinion is that, if it’s not raid or suffusion gear, then anything veteran or champion level or above should be able to be used in the Catalyst.

It’s not. It’s a similar source track as last season: the current open world end game event, which is Fyrakk assaults.

If you’re referring to the Heroic weekly quest, that box doesn’t give raid gear. It gives quest gear.

No Im referring to the researchers under fire weekly. If you do it fast enough you get T4 box which gives 415 gear. and with it being a weekly and in the most current zone, ya know just outside the raid. loot from that weekly should be eligible. if the world bosses from the Caverns are eligible, then why is the research event not? It takes a full group of people to get that done, just like the world boss and Fyrakk assault, and actually only the end boss of the Fyrakk assault needs a group.

Correct, but the item level is LFR and Normal raid quality from the heroic quest cache. It really wouldn’t be a big deal to allow it to be used in the Catalyst.

Which is a quest and not eligible. The blue post in the thread I linked tells you that.

It’s source related. As it always was. Researchers isn’t the main open world end game event. Fyrakk Assaults are.

Researchers is equivalent to Siege or Soup. None of that gear could be catalyzed either.

If it’s not one of the sources listed, it’s not eligible.

Irrelevant. It’s source related, not ilevel related.

You seem to be misunderstanding, you keep saying its not eligible, Im fully aware its not eligible. Im saying that it SHOULD be eligible.
I honestly think they overlooked the T4 reward. It should be a suffused item.
It is a weekly and is an end game event, its silly if you to just decide its not. Its in the most current zone for petes sake.

And I’m telling you why it’s not. So no, it shouldn’t be. Soup gear and Siege gear weren’t eligible. Nor is Researchers. Same thing.

I disagree. Its not the same as soup nor siege. This requires much more effort for the end reward.

It still takes more effort to run 5 heroic dungeons than most wings of LFR. Or Suffusion Camps. Aka, not much at all.

Siege required a full raid and Soup required a boatload of people to time it. It is similar.

July 11th brings new events and new gear, which we’ll most likely be able to catalyze, so you’ll have more options.

Also irrelevant.

Any reward set behind a weekly wall that requires a mass of people should offer eligible loot.
