The Cata survey is why Cata is coming

Again…incorrect. They didn’t stop giving out sub numbers until WoD, and no graph I can find on google has Pandaria at any point under 6 million

And even 3/3 of the WoW population now is barely a fraction of the population 13 years ago

search for newsbreezer . com with the same information, “Wow Subscribers by expansion” , you will see it. The forums will not let me link for some dumb reason.

brings up zero results from any site called newsbreezer

The instances were great, too! And the zones, in my opinion. I actually really liked Cata, and it’s probably my favorite expansion to date (though I stopped playing due to Real Life getting busy when Firelands was current).

You can literally go look up Blizzard’s official sub numbers. As you say they reported them into 2015.

That guy is simply wrong. And I don’t even know what he’s trying to prove. That Cata held 10 million subs for an 8 year old mmo. Any video game company would kill for that kind of ‘failure’.

That’s a lie invented by the anti-cata crowd.
If you were there or watched it via livestream, you’d know that the room was pretty enthusiastic about CataC.

I would check the data. Having read the survey withe the knowledge of what it brings the lack is apparent. It is a lot of nothing. The survey is on wowhead and it is a point by point rating of small chunks of cata changes which can create a picture of changes as segments but not the picture as a whole. The ensmallment of the world is a factor.

It is bad and it doesn’t ask people to say rank the expansions or compare it to tbc or vanilla or wrath. As for game journalism the lack of unscripted questions and later no audience presence in the post blizzcon ‘interview’ hints more at trying to control a narrative than genuine feedback. Given that is the case not sure we can trust game reviewers who might depend on keeping blizz happy.

As for the decline it might be less now then then, but that might be due to bots, tokens, and the presence of sod and other more inventive servers.
