The Burning Crusade Classic Release Date

This thread is just a low key “i hate retail” rally.

Lol

6 months is too close with how steamroll classic has been? No, it would be a LONG wait

Since AQ has released, servers have been rapidly losing players. My original server (Windseeker Alliance) went from 3400 players, to 2500, to 1500 in less than a month. The server died before anyone realized it. A majority of my guild made a hasty decision to transfer to Westfall which is sitting around 4k alliance players. A few months ago, Westfall was around 6.5k.

That being said, Classic won’t last through more than 2-3 months of Naxx. A lot of people I talk to don’t even care about Naxx. They’re just not so patiently waiting for TBC, as am I. I’m willing to stick around and go through Naxx content, the consumable check raid that it is, just to see TBC announced shortly after. If we don’t have TBC by at least Summer of 2021, I’ll cancel my sub and wait til we do get it.

Classic is cool and all, but the content past phase 4 is just a poorly designed grindfest which honestly isn’t worth the effort. Private servers have historically shown massive player loss when they’ve went into phase 5 content, and are dead long before naxx, and regain popularity once the servers reset back to phase 1.

Classic doesn’t have a year left, I doubt it has even 6 months left.

Two years left.

I too enjoy setting money on fire.

I think it’s more because AQ is a boring mess focused around an opening even that is for the 1% of the 1% of the server with a lackluster raid filled with garbage trash. After AQ, the game never truly recovers

And we did and was proven that we did. Don’t try to act like sitting on the same content is some how what people wanted when its quite clear that the palayer base has been split in three ways since the annoucnment. Some wanting, seemingly you, wanting to sit in Classic 1.12 forever. Some wanting to Classic +. Some wanting TBC.

If you want to sit in naxx on 1.12 forever go ahead feel free to do so on whatever server your on assuming they dont have you transfer or copy to another server. Im sure youll find a happy population of people to play with. Other people will be happy to leave you there and never bother you on your museum piece of a server.

I will point out that plenty of private servers could have fufilled that yet there seems to be something that the idea of FRESH keeps coming up and people always ran to them. Repeating the same content from the same start points. I wonder how many would dump there Naxx chars just to do it again on Fresh Blizzard servers.

I was gonna write something in defense here, but yeah you’re right.

I just hate it; I somehow had this notion that Classic wasn’t going to be another human wave riding on the content treadmill tempted out of hiding with new expansions. It’s just so Blizzard now.

So Naxx just hit the PTR. About 2 months earlier than expected by most people. AQ was on PTR for about 6 weeks. If its about the same for Naxx, we will see it in November.

If they announce BC in november too - instead of next year during blizzonline Event. The Release could be in Q1|2020 or very early Q2.

Let’s hope the best and prey they will have some adjustments for the major TBC issues.

There are some minor things that do need to be looked into as it relates to the event and changes to LHC. Still i hope that they dont skip on the raid testing like aq

I think they would sit on Naxx a bit longer before telling people how they want to move forward. Even if Nov or Dec release i would still not expect anything until Feb Event, Mostly because there wont be much to talk about unless Shadowlands gets delayed until then. I still belive that TBC wont come out till august but ill be happy to be wrong and see it sooner.

The only time you see P Servers that “Fix” the issues are when you basically make it un tenable to play the horde by giving the alliance that much of an advantage. The horde now is imbalanced on pvp servers giving alliance one pallay ability is not going to dissuade people from rolling BE.

They will lose aprox. 50% to 60% of their classic player base if Naxx runs too long.

Thats why they need to fix racials and improve layering for semi faction balance. Or alliance will just transfer to an “alliance megaserver”…

I agree why i think the timing of naxx is important. I fully expect most guilds to be dead after 1-2 clears. The main issue is going to be, from Blizzards perspective, Shadowlands. They wont want to overlap releases. Though i think that 2-3 months is enough of the expansion for people that want to play Classic TBC. I know that i would play the beta for TBC over Shadowlands for sure.

I wish that they would control there server pops better for pvp servers. At the same time there is one PVE server thats really horde dominated. For the most part history is repeating itself as it relates to server faction balance. I could see them homogenizing the abilities of Pallies. I dont think they fiddle too much with radials simply because the didnt do so through Classic.

I would honestly be shocked if they went too deep outside of class abilities to balance population

I think they will try to fix faction balance with an updated layering system. so alliance players do not get overrun by 5 times as much horde players. They need layering active anyway because outland is so small and there are only a few relevant endgame spots in TBC.

Either way, my alliance guild will transfer to an pve server unless blizzard will announce a realistic way to fix this issue - which is not just giving alliance paladins the seal of lulz.

That would be a pretty drastic change. I can see layering being a thing because of the larger servers but to put people into certain layers based on factions is a bit of a bridge to far. IMO what they should do is control populations as it relates to trasfers to TBC servers for progressive players.

Meddling on the Layer system just sounds like a recipe for tech issues.

NanoNost (Nostalrius) on Twitter says Naxx in December, TBC Beta in Feb, TBC launch in May.

I think I believe him.

you’re are waaaaaaaaay off. You actually think they are gonna add a whole expansion in a shorter time span than the release between AQ and Naxx?

TBC won’t be here till summer 2021, they are gonna give Naxx breathing room

Its far more likely with the PTR comming out.

Depends how much work they have been doing in the testing currently. Vanilla lead the ground work but also didnt exsist in the current liver servers in any way. It could be argued that TBC and Wrath both exsist on the liver servers the only change is how the patch data interacts with the server.

They mentioned how they had to change the spell tables for classic and i would expect that to happen again but if they build odd the pipelines they put in place for Classic it should be a short process.

As for the expansion, i dont think there is that much cross over. People playing the expansions that were from classic or tbc will quickly want to go back to that experience over the System web that Shadowlands currently is
